Ravi Shastri to apply for the post of India coach

The former Indian allrounder and team director Ravi Shastri will apply for the post of India’s head coach.

The India’s head coach position is vacant after Anil Kumble decided to step down this month after the controversy with Indian captain.

Ravi Shastri also applied for the same post in 2016 but was not selected despite a good tenure as team director.

Shastri who worked alongside Duncan Fletcher in the early stages of his tenure had sole responsibility after World Cup 2015.

The BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee - comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman - has been tasked with selecting the team's coach.
