Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

18.1 - Chameera to Buttler, FOUR, goes seam-up this time and he's been skinned through the point region. Absolutely skinned. Buttler cuts it muscularly

17.2 - Dasun Shanaka to Buttler, FOUR, Buttler is snorting fire. Receives a full toss wide of off and incinerates it wide of long-off. Take shelter in the crowd

17.0 - Chameera to Buttler, no ball, FOUR, Buttler is into his zone. And it's a no-ball. Dear me. Low full toss just outside off, Buttler slices it behind square splitting point and third man. Blimey, on replays it's clear that Chameera's heel is well behind the crease. Shocker from Tucker

16.4 - Chameera to Buttler, FOUR, oh that's just raw force. Chameera has done him with a slower ball, but Buttler still goes through with a loft down the ground. Plays it well in front of the body and chips it dead straight. Sheer determination, nothing else

16.3 - Chameera to Buttler, FOUR, overcooks a yorker, and Buttler has absolutely smoked it past extra-cover. Lots of bottom hand. Lots of wrists. And lots of power

15.2 - T Perera to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, here's the walk towards off again and Perera feeds him with just the ball he wants. Off-cutter down leg and Morgan whips it behind square. No one there

12.1 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Buttler, FOUR, Buttler aims mid-wicket with a slog, and gets a boundary in a diagonally opposite direction down at third man. He came dancing out but the leg-break dipped on him and took the outside edge. Flies away through the vacant slip cordon

11.4 - Mathews to Buttler, FOUR, how's he got that to the fence? Walks well across to play the lap, but Mathews has taken all the pace off the ball. Buttler goes through with it anyway and paddles it fine. Fine enough to beat a diving fine leg

11.0 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Buttler, FOUR, it's the third ball he's faced, and out comes the reverse sweep. Premeditated it, got a nicely floated leg-break just outside off, and hit it behind backward point

9.2 - Chameera to Root, FOUR, he's just about forced it over mid-off. Came striding down the pitch, got deceived by Chameera's leg-cutter but went through with the loft anyway. Spoons it over mid-off, who runs back but can't get there

6.0 - Mathews to Root, FOUR, second boundary of the over. Slower off-cutter angled in on the stumps, and is flicked through mid-wicket with the grace of a ballerina

5.3 - Mathews to Jason Roy, FOUR, some cheekiness to go with his power play. He is early to shape for the scoop, sits on the back knee and just picks up a length ball over short fine leg. England are getting a good move on

4.5 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Jason Roy, FOUR, England have got the boundaries going. Lots of intent from this pair, keen to latch onto anything they can. Roy shuffles to leg to make his own width and laces the cut to hit the gap at point

4.1 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Root, FOUR, geez, that's elegant batting. Very very elegant. Not a bad ball at all. Superbly tossed up leg-break outside off, lures Root into the drive, and he has to slightly stretch out too. But Root uses his reach so well and threads it through the covers

3.5 - Herath to Root, FOUR, excellent lunge forward to take it on the full. Reaches out and drives it through extra-cover. "Roooooot," here, I make up for the lack of it from the audience

3.2 - Herath to Jason Roy, FOUR, oh good hit! New England. Successful England? Roy changes his stance and reverse whacks a flighted delivery powerfully over backward point

20.0 - T Perera to Stokes, SIX, Stokes comes out, faces one ball, and whacks it for six. England have powered on to 171. Low full toss outside off, Stokes leans across and heaves it away wide of deep mid-wicket. He thinks he has a chance, runs across, sticks out a hand thinking he'll pull off a stunning catch. Huh, pipedreams!

18.2 - Chameera to Buttler, SIX, slower leg-cutter, well wide of off, and it's been clubbed over long-on. This is just ridiculous. Look at the rubble of Lankan bowlers lying there. Chameera needs support. Chameera needs belief. Heck, Chameera just needs a shoulder to cry on

17.4 - Dasun Shanaka to Buttler, SIX, winds up big time, and swings brutally to send a full ball soaring over long-off. Fifty for Buttler. And he's not done

15.3 - T Perera to Eoin Morgan, SIX, oh my! Morgan is starting to come down hard now. And Perera is only halfway through his over. Aims for a wide yorker, misses it by about six inches and that's enough for Morgan to size it up and wallop it over long-off

8.4 - Herath to Jason Roy, SIX, with Roy there, Sri Lanka won't be breathing freely. He's always looking to do something or the other. Hurls down the pitch once more, reaches within the vicinity of the ball to minimize the chances of error and flogs it over wide long-on

6.3 - Siriwardana to Jason Roy, SIX, that's a gift for Roy. Wrapped with a bow and all. Looped up above the eyeline, never dips and Roy charges down to take toll. Converts it into a full toss and pummels it straight back over Siriwardana

19.2 - T Perera to Buttler, out Eoin Morgan Run Out!! Slaps a full toss straight back at Perera, who manages to stop it off the boot. Morgan is well down the pitch looking for a single. Buttler isn't interested. And Perera fires down the stumps as the ball had not gone too far from him. Eoin Morgan run out (T Perera) 22(16) [4s-1 6s-1]

12.5 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Jason Roy, out Lbw!! That's dead. Absolutely dead. Vandersay slips in the flipper on off, and skids under Roy's attempted pull to hit the back leg. Roy might as well have walked. Would have crashed off-stump three fourths on the way up. Valar Morghulis (All men must die). Jason Roy lbw b Jeffrey Vandersay 42(39) [4s-3 6s-2]

10.1 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Root, out Caught by Thirimanne!! Ha, this leggie is good they say. They must be right, for he picks up wickets with long-hops. Root is loathing himself as he walks off. He saw the opportunity, jumped on the back foot and swatted the pull straight to deep mid-wicket. A dangerous 61-run partnership has been extinguished. Root c Thirimanne b Jeffrey Vandersay 25(24) [4s-4]

1.4 - Herath to Hales, out Lbw!! Hales sinks low to sweep, misses it and GONE! Herath is absolutely ecstatic. Punches the air and roars his nerves out. The only question was where was the impact, because Hales had shuffled across. It's marginal on off according to HawkEye. England must be nervous now. Hales lbw b Herath 0(4)

17.3 - Dasun Shanaka to Buttler, 2 runs, 50 of the partnership comes up in 31 balls, as Buttler swats a slower ball off the inside half in front of long-on and hares back

11.1 - Mathews to Jason Roy, leg byes, 1 run, shapes for a reverse slap. But he's hurried by a length ball and hit on the flap of the pad. Then gets occupied by a raucous appeal when the impact is clearly outside off. Meanwhile, Buttler is charging. Roy puts the wheels on in an effort to make it to the other end and gets in between the throw and the stumps. Didn't change direction though

18.2 - Jordan to Dasun Shanaka, FOUR, look at Shanaka, look at him. He is pumping his fists. He's absolutely chuffed. Another quick low full toss outside off, and Shanaka opens the bat-face and slices it fine

18.0 - Willey to Dasun Shanaka, FOUR, bowls it short and goes the distance. Well, almost. One bounce and over the ropes wide of deep mid-wicket. Sat up for Shanaka who seemed to have pulled it off the front foot

16.3 - Jordan to T Perera, FOUR, moves to leg, Jordan follows him, bowls it on the hips and Perera just lifts his front leg while helping the pull behind square, ala Greenidge. Fine leg is too square

12.2 - Plunkett to Kapugedera, FOUR, England can't blow this from here. Surely can't. But they have been rattled. Plunkett dishes a length ball on leg, and Kapugedera picks it up with some awesome wrists. One bounce and over the deep backward square ropes. Some more of this, and you never know

10.1 - Stokes to Mathews, FOUR, yeah, more of these! Short ball outside off, Mathews sees it early and butchers the pull through mid-wicket. The man in the deep is squarer and has no chance

8.0 - Plunkett to Kapugedera, FOUR, much better from Kapugedera, on a good length and well outside off, Kapugedera comes down the track, made room as he did so and went over extra cover, one bounce and over the ropes for a boundary

4.2 - Jordan to Mathews, FOUR, lovely shot, much better from Mathews, back of a length and on his pads, he gets inside the line and tucks it behind square on the on-side, beats the despairing dive from Hales to the fence

4.1 - Jordan to Mathews, FOUR, inside edge and four, some luck for the Sri Lanka captain. This was short and wide outside off, Mathews threw his hands at that, gets an inside edge that rolls past the off-stump

17.4 - Willey to Dasun Shanaka, SIX, Willey has nearly tore his hair apart. Slower ball from round the wicket. Shanaka waits. Shanaka lofts. And Shanaka just about clears Jordan at long-on. My word. What a cracker

15.5 - Moeen Ali to T Perera, SIX, now Perera! England look like they have been hit by a train. Ali feeds it on a fullish length once more from round the wicket, and Perera hops down, just a shimmy to reach the pitch and blasts it straight back

15.2 - Moeen Ali to Mathews, SIX, another six! What a recovery. They were dead. Absolutely dead. Their supporters were shocked into Limbo. And now they are roaring. Ali darts it on a length and Mathews bends his knee, slog-sweeps it over deep mid-wicket

15.1 - Moeen Ali to Mathews, SIX, this is ON! This is wholly and truly on. Inexplicable from Morgan to go to Ali again. The offie tries his best to follow Mathews as he backs away but is biffed over long-on

13.4 - Moeen Ali to T Perera, SIX, whoa! It's getting tasty. It's getting very tasty at the Kotla. Slanted in with the arm towards middle and leg, it's on a length though and there is no intention to make it turn. Perera heaves it with the angle and gets enough to clear mid-wicket

12.0 - Adil Rashid to Mathews, SIX, massive over. 21 off it. Do Lanka still believe? Do they? They will until Mathews is fighting out there. Rashid tries to put on a show of bravery and gives it a lot of flight, and he is smited over long-on

11.4 - Adil Rashid to Kapugedera, SIX, now Kapu unloads. Rashid tosses it wider of off, might have been the googly, but it's too full. Allows Kapugedera to get under it and loft it inside out over wide long-off

11.2 - Adil Rashid to Mathews, SIX, another big swing of the bat from Mathews, and he has lobbed it delectably over long-on. Rashid isn't afraid to toss it up, and is made to pay

9.3 - Adil Rashid to Mathews, SIX, massive, Sri Lanka will believe until their captain stays in the middle, this was tossed up invitingly outside off, Mathews gets a big stride forward and lifts it high and over the sightscreen, that's a huge blow

2.4 - Willey to Siriwardana, SIX, clubbed, much needed for Sri Lanka, fraction too short and on the stumps, Siriwardana stays on the front foot and pummels it over wide mid-wicket, almost took a camera person on its way

19.0 - Jordan to Herath, out Bowled!! Jordan grenades Herath and bombs his stumps down. He's made a mess of the furniture. Doesn't get better. Hurled a fiery yorker as Herath made room, went right through him and bang. KO! Herath b Jordan 1(2)

18.3 - Jordan to Dasun Shanaka, out Caught by Root!! Another boundary, another boundary...oh wait! No way! No way! Joe Root. Wow. He's pulled off a screamer at mid-off. Shanaka had absolutely slapped the full ball and it was travelling. Root flies to his left, goes with both hands and plucks it out. Scenes... Dasun Shanaka c Root b Jordan 15(9) [4s-2 6s-1]

16.4 - Jordan to T Perera, out Caught by Willey!! Full outside off, Perera lofts it hard .. and picks out mid-off. Straight to Willey who crouches and opts for the reverse cup. Usually he'd clear the field with ease, but he got this one right at the bottom of the bat. T Perera c Willey b Jordan 20(11) [4s-1 6s-2]

13.0 - Plunkett to Kapugedera, out Caught by Stokes!! He's slogged it a mile in the air off a thick top edge. It swirls and swirls over Stokes, who keeps his cool at deep backward square and pulls off a brilliant pressure catch. Not very smart stuff from Kapu, premeditated the heave and went through with it despite the line being well wide of off. Kapugedera c Stokes b Plunkett 30(27) [4s-2 6s-1]

3.0 - Willey to Mathews, out Thirimanne Run Out!! It's going from bad to worse for Sri Lanka. On a good length and just outside off, Mathews dabbed it in front of cover, took a couple of steps down the track, Thirimanne responded and was almost half-way down the track before being sent back. Stokes swooped on the ball, took a couple of steps forward before under-arming a direct hit at the bowler's end. Thirimanne put in the dive, but he was well short. Thirimanne run out (Stokes) 3(5)

2.5 - Willey to Siriwardana, out Caught by Eoin Morgan!! Six and OUT! It's all going downhill for Sri Lanka and South Africa. This was a good length delivery outside off, Siriwardana made room, shimmied down the track and was looking to go over extra cover. He didn't get the required height, Morgan was at the edge of the ring, times his jump well and holds a good catch - over his head. Sri Lanka are sinking in Delhi. Siriwardana c Eoin Morgan b Willey 7(7) [6s-1]

1.2 - Jordan to Chandimal, out Caught by Buttler!! Catching practice for Buttler! A nothing shot from Chandimal, the heads are down in the Sri Lankan camp. What was Chandimal trying to do here? There was a slip in place, third man was there as well, for all the worth of it, this would have fetched him only a single. This was a back of a length delivery outside off that held its line, Chandimal shuffled across, opens the face of the bat at the last moment and literally guided it to Buttler's right. He moves across and snaffles with glee. Chandimal c Buttler b Jordan 1(3)

0.3 - Willey to Dilshan, out Caught by Hales!! A million hearts slump as Dilshan falls! This was a lovely set-up from England and Dilshan has fallen into the trap. Full and a hint of nip back into the right-hander, Dilshan swung through the line, didn't bother to keep the ball down, straight down to Hales at deep backward square leg. Horror start for Sri Lanka and dare I say, South Africa. Dilshan c Hales b Willey 2(2)

15.0 - Willey to Mathews, 1 run, leans into a full ball slanted away from him and drives it gently to long-off to raise a fifty. Still standing firmly between England and the quarterfinal slot. How long? Just how long can he deny them?

12.4 - Plunkett to Mathews, no run, flicked powerfully to mid-wicket, who gathers and shies at the non-striker's end where Kapu has given up. Way out, after being sent back. No direct hit though

10.4 - Stokes to Kapugedera, 1 run, tries to drive a back of a length delivery off the front foot, and tamely mistimes it wide of extra-cover where Morgan dives to his right and parries it towards mid-off
