Anwar Ali to Boult, FOUR, and NZ end with a boundary. How apt. Outside edge runs away fine. Finish with 280 in the end
49.4 -
Anwar Ali to McClenaghan, FOUR, another full toss and another boundary. This time though, McClenaghan converted it into one by advancing. Slotted it over extra-cover
49.2 -
Anwar Ali to McClenaghan, FOUR, yes please! McClenaghan got into position for a scoop and couldn't believe his luck after receiving a full toss. Chipped it easily over the infield down fine
48.4 -
Riaz to Matt Henry, FOUR, anywhere will do. That's the mantra. Shortish outside off, tries to heave it hard, gets a top edge which runs away fine
47.5 -
Imad Wasim to Matt Henry, FOUR, slogs wildly, the ball has gone in a diagonally opposite direction than he intended but the result is good enough. Flew off the top edge and cleared third man
47.0 -
Anwar Ali to McClenaghan, FOUR, now improvises. Gets into position for the scoop, and effortlessly chips it over short fine leg
45.0 -
Anwar Ali to Matt Henry, FOUR, attempts another slower bouncer but gets it down the leg-side, Henry waits for it this time and slaps the pull behind square
42.1 -
Anwar Ali to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, scorched! He was waiting for it. Short delivery and Nicholls is in position early. Blasts the pull behind square
41.3 -
Riaz to Matt Henry, FOUR, take that! How's that for a shot. Short ball and Henry has pulled it well in front of square. Wide of long-on and bounces just once before going over
38.0 -
Azhar Ali to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, Pakistan are letting this slip. This partnership continues to pile on the runs. Just takes a couple of steps out of his crease to meet the pitch and drives it straight of mid-off
33.2 -
Azhar Ali to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, edged, no slip, and it runs away. Fooled Santner with a wrong 'un as he tried to blast the drive, got the edge but there wasn't any man catching
32.5 -
Imad Wasim to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, shimmies down the track, gets close to the pitch while leaving enough room to belt a drive past mid-off. The fielder was much wider and it rocketed past him
27.3 -
Riaz to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, this time the third man fielder is beaten to his other side. Santner hops back and runs it down very fine
27.1 -
Riaz to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, glided away behind backward point and .. oh .. that's sped away. Timed it pretty well. Short of length outside off, Nicholls waits for it, uses all the pace and just guides it with an open bat face. Easily beat third man
24.4 -
Amir to Mitchell Santner, FOUR, that's so well timed, despite hitting Amir on the boot in his followthrough, it comfortably races to the ropes. A bit too full from Amir, Santner presses forward and punches it straight back. Leaves Amir a bit ginger. Hobbling a little
21.0 -
Amir to Ronchi, FOUR, the shots keeps flowing from Kiwi blades. Getting your eye in, anyone? Pitched up and angled away wide of off, the length was full enough to warrant having a go. Ronchi leans across, not much feet, and blazes it through the covers
19.4 -
Anwar Ali to Corey Anderson, FOUR, that's a forehand smash down the ground. Short ball angled away wide of off, Anderson stands tall and thumps the flat-batted swat past the non-striker
18.3 -
Amir to Corey Anderson, byes, FOUR, that's took off like a plane from the runway. Zooms up from halfway down the pitch, whirs over Anderson's attempted pull, and over the leaping Sarfraz as well.
14.2 -
Riaz to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, flies away off a thick edge over slip. Skiddy short of length delivery outside off, Nicholls tried to use the pace on it and glide it fine, but got it much finer than he bargained for. Lucky boundary
13.1 -
Anwar Ali to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, driven away! Whenever the length has been full, it has been punished as far as I can remember. Can't let these rare opportunities pass by. Dished up outside off, Nicholls leans across and creams it wide of mid-off
9.1 -
Anwar Ali to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, Anwar Ali introduces himself with a half-volley outside off. Like pressing the release valve after all the pressure. Nicholls lays into it. Good stride across before unleashing a drive through extra-cover
7.0 -
Irfan to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, this will convince Irfan further that pitching up is futile. Actually the length wasn't the problem as much as the line. It ended up on Nicholls's pads. He effortlessly whips it wide of mid-on for some easy runs
6.3 -
Irfan to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, now this sends a message. A message that I am not intimidated by all this. Well directed short ball gunning for the throat of the batsman, Nicholls rolls his wrists on the pull to keep it along the carpet and hits it behind square. Enough timing on it to beat fine leg to his right
2.4 -
Irfan to Latham, FOUR, beautiful. Slightly overpitched outside off, Latham gets a good stride towards the ball and punches it through extra-cover. The balance, the timing, everything was there
0.5 -
Irfan to Guptill, FOUR, flashed away! The first real loosener and boy, didn't Guptill eat it alive. Short and wide, throws his bat at it and slashes it past cover-point
49.0 -
Riaz to McClenaghan, SIX, dear me. That's a deathening blow. Too predictable from Riaz. McClenaghan waited for the slower short ball to arrive and slammed it over deep mid-wicket for a flat six
48.0 -
Imad Wasim to Matt Henry, SIX, deposited over mid-wicket. Sliding on from a length towards middle, Henry slaughters it across the line
46.3 -
Anwar Ali to Matt Henry, SIX, lofted and clears long-off. This is a nightmare for Pakistan. Full ball around off, Henry swings through the line and makes a good enough connection
45.5 -
Riaz to Matt Henry, SIX, third six of the over. Quick short ball climbing awkward towards Henry's chest, he brandishes a makeshift pull, flies off the top edge over fine leg assisted by the wind
45.4 -
Riaz to Matt Henry, SIX, fire being met with fire here. Right in the slot on a good length around off, Henry has clouted it over deep mid-wicket. Huge that
45.2 -
Riaz to McClenaghan, SIX, he's got that alright! Nailed it. Looked like he was waiting for the short ball, soon as it arrives he pulls it ferociously over deep backward square. Just over the leaping fielder
4.3 -
Irfan to Guptill, SIX, and bang! He's clubbed that like a golfer in the driving range. What a swing of the willow. Seemed like Guptill had decided as the bowler was running in that this one has to go. Gets it in the slot, clears his front leg and swipes it over wide mid-off. Huge hit
44.2 -
Anwar Ali to Henry Nicholls, out Bowled!! Chopped on! Length delivery outside off, Nicholls tries to blast it against the angle from round the wicket, only presents half of the bat on the drive, and drags it onto the timber off an inside edge. Henry Nicholls b Anwar Ali 82(111) [4s-7]
38.4 -
Irfan to Mitchell Santner, out Caught by Sarfraz!! Why wasn't this done earlier? Kept feeding the partnership with some rubbish spin bowling rather than getting the quicks on. Irfan back into the attack, and straightaway pays dividends. He does what he's been doing all day long i.e. troubling batsmen with bounce. Lifts spongily from a short of length, lobs off the top-edge of Santner's pull, and straight towards Sarfraz who had no problems despite the ball swerving in the wind. Mitchell Santner c Sarfraz b Irfan 48(63) [4s-5]
22.1 -
Amir to Ronchi, out Caught by Sarfraz!! There you go. Just too many strokes. It's like they have decided to jump off the cliff together. Goes flashing at a slightly short delivery angling away outside off. He is undone by the extra bounce which has been on offer all day. And nicks it through to the keeper. Ronchi c Sarfraz b Amir 5(7) [4s-1]
20.4 -
Amir to Corey Anderson, out Caught by Sarfraz!! Oh, appalling cricket. Every ball he faced, he looked like getting out. And now the inevitable has transpired. Can anyone please explain this approach, because I ain't got a clue. Back of a length delivery outside off, Anderson tries to punch it through the off-side on the front foot, ended up playing well away from the body and edged it behind. Corey Anderson c Sarfraz b Amir 10(19) [4s-1]
15.5 -
Anwar Ali to Elliott, out Bowled!! He's done it again. Oh Anwar Ali, what a ripper! That's an even better delivery than the one which got Williamson, got it to jag back in sharply from a fullish just outside off. Elliott, like Williamson, left a huge gap while attempting a drive. The ball sneaked through it, and pegged off stump back. Elliott b Anwar Ali 0(2)
15.3 -
Anwar Ali to Williamson, out Bowled!! I can't even begin to explain how big a wicket is this. The calming influence of Williamson has been taken out of the equation. Loose stroke, something which you don't quite associate with him. Fraction full outside off, Williamson aims a drive, tries to play it away from the body leaving a huge bat-pad gap, nips in slightly to take a thick inside edge and sends the leg-stump for a walk. Williamson b Anwar Ali 10(17)
5.2 -
Amir to Latham, out Caught by Sarfraz!! Pakistan are very upbeat about a review. Plenty of fielders suggesting to Azhar that he should go for it. And the captain obliges. So what have we got here. The thing in contention here is if Latham has gloved one through to the keeper. Not much evident on Hot Spot. Oh wait, RTS has cleared the picture. Big spike as the ball went past glove. Latham sees it and is already halfway to the hutch. Again a short ball doing the trick. Whirs off the pitch, beats Latham for pace as he attempted to pull it from over his right shoulder, caught a bit of glove as it flew through to Sarfraz. He knew it straightaway. So did Latham. Latham c Sarfraz b Amir 11(15) [4s-1]
5.0 -
Irfan to Guptill, out Caught by Riaz!! Irfan has his retribution. The towering pacer has undone Guptill with a lifter. Short ball well directed towards Guptill's right shoulder. He tries to pull it away but is slightly rushed. Also got big on him, took a thick top-edge and ballooned in front of fine leg. Riaz rushes forward, steadies himself and plucks it. Guptill c Riaz b Irfan 11(17) [4s-1 6s-1]
27.0 -
Imad Wasim to Mitchell Santner, 2 runs, that's been lobbed off a thick top-edge, mid-off is running back, long-on is running to his right, will anyone get there? Oh brilliant effort. Babar Azam put in the dive with both hands rushing across from long-on but couldn't hang on. Would have been a stupendous catch. Well flighted delivery outside off, Santner tries a slog-sweep but skies it off a thick top edge. The breeze comes to his aid here
9.2 -
Anwar Ali to Henry Nicholls, no run, a chance has gone down at slip. Hafeez it is. Nice head-high catch, he grabbed at it and down she went. A good length ball angled away outside off, Nicholls is drawn into a loose drive away from the body, takes the outside edge and should have been number three down
30.0 -
Riaz to Henry Nicholls, 1 run, slower ball, on a full length outside off, Nicholls jams it in front of cover and rushes across to complete a half-century. Tough runs. Runs which weigh a lot more than others
