United Arab Emirates comprehensively beat Oman by 71 runs in the deciding match of the Asia Cup qualifiers. Oman and UAE both had a chance to qualify for the Asia Cup coming into their last match. However, Oman had to chase down their target in 13.5 overs after opting to bowl, while UAE needed just a win to qualify.
UAE finished first on the table after winning all their matches in the qualifying stage. UAE will now join India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the tournament starting on Wednesday.
UAE will play Sri Lanka in their Asia Cup opener on Thursday, February 25 and Bangladesh on Friday, February 26. UAE play Pakistan on February 29 and India on March 3.
