Murali Vijay has been ruled out of India's tour of Sri Lanka due to a wrist injury. 

Shikhar Dhawan has been called up to the Indian Test squad as a replacement for Murali Vijay. 

Vijay, who suffered an injury to his wrist during Australia's tour of India, has complained of pain in his right wrist during a preparatory match. 

The BCCI medical team has recommended that Vijay continues his rehab program. 

Dhawan returns to the Test squad for the first time since October 2016, when he played against New Zealand in a home series. 

Dhawan had success in the Champions Trophy but did not perform as per expectations in India's tour of West Indies.
