Andre Russell’s black-and-pink bat banned by Cricket Australia

Andre Russell unveiled an outrageous black and pink bat in Australia’s Big Bash League opener.

Cricket Australia (CA) had initially stated that differently coloured bats are allowed in the Big Bash League as long as it matches the club colours.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson said,

A player can use a coloured bat subject to CA approval. The bat may be the same colour as the Club’s primary colour, or black. The umpires can also request a player change the bat if they believe it affects the integrity of the match.

CA has banned the black and pink bat used by Andre Russell in the Big Bash after it left marks on the ball.

Russell will need to delve into his kit bag for Thursday night's game against the Melbourne Renegades.
