BBL 05 Preview: Sydney Thunder

The Sydney Thunders have struggled to get going with dismal performances so far in every season. They have stood last in three seasons and the previous season was no better as they finished at seventh place.

This year though, they will look to leave all that behind and would want to believe that, this year will be the year when the lightening Thunder's strike. One would be unable to fathom a squad with Mike Hussey and Kallis ending up languishing at the bottom.

Luck has not been on their side as well, with Cummins and Khawaja's injuries further adding to their woes.

The onus will be on the experience of Kallis, Hussey, Mckay and Watson to step up and retaliate fire with fire. Indian expatriate Gurinder Sandhu is a fresh young talent and he along with the big and burly Andre Russell will look to create early inroads.

Russell is also well known for his ability to strike them out of the park and also play those match winning knocks towards the end which he has  done seamlessly.

Most of thier key players have retired from the game and to get going from the word go will be a challenge. It will also be a test to see if they can match up to the vibrancy of the youth.

You will have to wait and watch as to how the Thunders will fare. Will they deliver another lacklustre performance again or will they exceed people's expectations? Tune in on the 17th to see how the action unfolds.
