42.4 - Kaushal to Yasir Shah, FOUR, round the wicket, tossed up on the stumps, Yasir gets down on one knee and goes for the agricultural sweep behind square, connects it fine and the ball does the rest

41.1 - Dushmantha Chameera to Babar, FOUR, high full toss on the batsman, Babar goes for a wild slog, he gets a thick inside edge and the ball rolls past the diving keeper, four lucky runs for Pakistan

26.5 - Kaushal to Hafeez, FOUR, full toss and this time Hafeez takes full toll of it, he kneels down on one leg and sweeps it, towards the deep square leg fence, he timed it well, the ball raced away in a hurry

23.5 - Dhammika to Younis Khan, FOUR, pitched up and in the slot, Younis times the drive to perfection, straight down the ground, no need to run for those

22.5 - Kaushal to Hafeez, FOUR, floated up from Kaushal, Hafeez uses his feet to get to the pitch of the ball, he lofts it over the bowler's head and the ball runs away to the fence. Superb timing from the batsman

20.4 - Mathews to Younis Khan, leg byes, FOUR, back of a length delivery and drifting on the pads, Younis tries to flick and misses. It turns out to be four leg byes

17.1 - Dhammika to Hafeez, FOUR, fuller and shaping away from Hafeez, Hafeez comes forward as he looks to drive, he gets a thick outside edge that runs away in the gap between the second slip and gully, the fielder at gully dived to his left but couldn't stop it. A third slip probably would have taken it with ease

13.5 - Dushmantha Chameera to Hafeez, FOUR, again superb balance shown by Hafeez, fuller from Chameera, Hafeez stands tall in the crease and drives it past the diving bowler on his followthrough for a boundary

13.2 - Dushmantha Chameera to Azhar Ali, FOUR, a tad fuller from Dushmantha Chameera, Azhar shows superb balance, leans into the drive and drives it to the right of mid-off for a boundary

12.4 - Mathews to Azhar Ali, FOUR, from wide of the crease, Mathews bowls it full, Azhar leans into the drive and gets it past the diving fielder at mid-on for a boundary. Herath could have done a lot better there as he was slow to get down

3.3 - Mathews to Azhar Ali, FOUR, poor ball from Mathews, full and well down leg-side, Azhar gets inside the line and helps it on its way, the ball races away to the fence in a hurry

3.2 - Mathews to Azhar Ali, FOUR, lovely shot, very full and on the stumps, Azhar presents the full face of the bat and punches it back past the non-striker, no need to run for those

3.0 - Dhammika to Hafeez, FOUR, first boundary of the day, leg-stump half-volley from Prasad, flicked away behind square on the on-side. Chameera gets across from fine-leg, puts in the slide but can't stop the ball from hitting the ropes

42.1 - Kaushal to Yasir Shah, SIX, tossed up and inviting the batsman to come forward, Yasir acknowledges the offer and dances down the track, smokes it high and over the long-on fence, gets a maximum, the fielder at long-on signalled it was a six as soon as he saw the ball sailing over

42.5 - Kaushal to Yasir Shah, out Caught by Sangakkara!! Fifer for Kaushal, gets the reward for being consistent, this was tossed up and delivered outside off, Yasir goes for a wild slog and miscues it completely, the ball swirled in the air for a long time, Sangakkara from long-on runs across to his left and puts in the dive to complete a brilliant catch, that was a splendid take from the veteran. Yasir had no option but to go after every ball, poor stuff from the Pakistani batsmen. This is also the fifth lowest total for Pakistan in Sri Lanka. Yasir Shah c Sangakkara b Kaushal 15(17) [4s-1 6s-1]

41.4 - Dushmantha Chameera to Babar, out Bowled!! The debutant gets his first Test wicket, not the kind of batsmen he would have liked but he will take it anyway, delivers it on a short of length on off and middle, Babar makes room slightly and swings hard across the line, he gets an under edge and the ball deflects onto the stumps. Babar, in his brief stay, looked to play too many shots and paid the price for doing so. Babar b Dushmantha Chameera 5(7) [4s-1]

40.2 - Kaushal to Riaz, out Lbw!! Loopy delivery on the stumps, Riaz goes down on one knee as he was looking to sweep, he misses it completely and gets hit low on the front pad, S Ravi was unmoved as the Sri Lankan players went for a huge appeal, Riaz didn't pick that ball at all. The ball was going onto hit the middle stump. Pakistan are falling apart here. Riaz lbw b Kaushal 4(21)

38.4 - Kaushal to Sarfraz Ahmed, out Caught by Mathews!! This is turning out to be a great first day for the home team, this was tossed up nicely on off, Sarfraz comes a tad forward as he looked to drive it straight over the bowler's head, he gets an inside edge onto the pads before the ball lobbed towards first slip, good turn and dip did the batsman in on that occasion. Sarfraz Ahmed c Mathews b Kaushal 14(29)

30.5 - Kaushal to Misbah, out Misbah Run Out!! This was a flighted delivery outside off, Misbah gets a good stride forward and looks to block it, the ball hits the pad and rolls towards cover, Misbah wanted the single but is sent back after he was more than halfway down the wicket, Mathews runs across from slip, fires in the throw at the striker's end and Chandimal whips the bails. Misbah run out (Mathews/Chandimal) 7(20)

30.3 - Kaushal to Shafiq, out Lbw!! Shafiq was on the back foot looking to turn it to the on-side, the ball spun in sharply, he misses and is hit on the front pad, umpire S Ravi has his finger up in a flash as a loud appeal is belted out by the Lankans, Shafiq had a brief discussion with the skipper before he decided to review, but for all the long chat he had, it turned out to be a waste of a review. Shafiq lbw b Kaushal 2(7)

28.3 - Kaushal to Hafeez, out Bowled!! Hafeez gets out after a battling knock, unlucky dismissal though, short of length and spinning into the batsman, Hafeez goes back and looks to defend, he played with an angled bat, the ball takes the inside edge and deflects onto the pads before it clipped the stumps, he was cramped for room on that occasion. Hafeez b Kaushal 42(75) [4s-5]

24.0 - Dhammika to Younis Khan, out Caught by Chandimal!! Ohhhh! Younis is walking, not the kind of outing he would have expected in his 100th Test match, this wasn't that threatening a delivery though, short of length and Dhammika extracts some extra bounce as well, Younis tries to drop his gloves as he was looking to leave, the ball brushes the glove and lobs towards the keeper at a catchable height, who takes it with ease. Younis Khan c Chandimal b Dhammika 6(38) [4s-1]

15.1 - Dhammika to Azhar Ali, out Caught by Chandimal!! Prasad has struck again for the hosts. It was pitched just short of good length delivery and nipping away from Ali, he gets opened up as he looks to defend. Sri Lanka belt out a huge appeal for caught behind as there were two sounds before the keeper collected the ball. The umpire initially thought there was no edge. However, Sri Lanka take the review and on replays it looked like the ball might have taken the edge before it brushed the trousers and the decision was overturned. The third umpire took a long time, checked a number of replays and gave the decision in favour of Sri Lanka. Azhar Ali c Chandimal b Dhammika 26(45) [4s-4]

2.1 - Dhammika to Ahmed Shehzad, out Caught by Sangakkara!! That's a needless shot from Shehzad, poor technique from the Pakistan opener. This was a short of a length delivery that wobbled across the right-hander, Shehzad was opened up as he looked to defend, ends up sparring at that, the thick edge is found and Sangakkara holds on, moving to his right at first slip. Sri Lanka have struck early, once again. Ahmed Shehzad c Sangakkara b Dhammika 1(3)

16.2 - Mathews to Younis Khan, no run, Younis survives a close call for lbw. It was pitched on a good length and nipped back off the seam to beat the defensive shot of Younis and rapped him on the pads. Initially, it was given as not out. Sri Lanka went for the review, but despite the impact being in line, it turned out to be umpire's call on its impact with the stumps and Younis survived. It was mighty close though

15.0 - Mathews to Hafeez, no run, good length delivery and on the stumps, blocked off the front foot

118.5 - Junaid Khan to Herath, FOUR, low full toss angling into the stumps, Herath looks to drive it through the off-side, the inside edge rolls past the leg-stump and Sri Lanka gain four useful runs

112.2 - Babar to Kaushal, FOUR, nicely played by Kaushal, comes down the track, gives himself room and chips it inside out over cover, the ball races away to the fence in a hurry

111.2 - Yasir Shah to Kaushal, FOUR, that's a poor ball from Yasir, drops one short and on the stumps, pulled away over mid-wicket for a boundary

110.2 - Hafeez to Herath, FOUR, that's nicely played by Herath, comes down the track, doesn't get to the pitch but goes through with the lofted on-drive, clears mid-on and races away to the fence

101.2 - Yasir Shah to Dhammika, FOUR, that's freebie from Yasir, offers a juicy full toss, the attempted wrong 'un going wrong, swung away over mid-on for a one-bounce boundary, the partnership is worth 64 runs and there are some worries on the faces of the Pakistan fielders

100.5 - Babar to Dhammika, FOUR, lovely shot, this one is given more air, Prasad shimmies down the track, makes room as he did so and lofts it cleanly over mid-off, races away to the fence in a jiffy

96.5 - Babar to Mathews, FOUR, good use of the feet from Mathews, shimmies down the track, gets to the pitch of the ball and whips it against the spin, gets it past square leg and the ball races away to the fence

92.2 - Junaid Khan to Dhammika, FOUR, Prasad is teasing the fielders but this was played very well, width on offer from Junaid, Prasad throws his bat at that and sends it flying past gully, no need to run for those

89.0 - Junaid Khan to Mathews, FOUR, brave shot from the skipper, Mathews advances and lifts it over the bowler's head, he feels more confident about Dhammika now, so looks like he is going to play his shots

84.5 - Yasir Shah to Dhammika, FOUR, tossed up and Prasad had enough width to drive, he leans forward and drives it on the full through cover, handy runs these for Sri Lanka

83.5 - Babar to Mathews, FOUR, short and gets punished, Mathews rocks back to this short delivery and pulls it hard through mid-wicket, no need to run for those

72.2 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, Superb improvisation from Mathews! He brings out the reverse sweep to counter the around the wicket tactic from Yasir and essays a boundary through backward point. It was pitched well outside leg so Mathews has to get the credit for that shot

69.5 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, byes, FOUR, a tossed up delivery that goes all wrong for Babar as it goes down leg. To make it worse, Sarfraz the wicket-keeper can't take it down leg and it runs away for four byes

69.4 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, this time, Silva uses his feet to take a tossed up delivery on the half-volley and drives it through deep extra cover for a boundary. Superb timing and placement

66.5 - Junaid Khan to Mathews, FOUR, this time Junaid drags his length back, gets it to straighten after pitching, Mathews gets half forward and pushes at it, gets a thick outside edge and it runs away through the vacant third slip for a boundary

66.0 - Yasir Shah to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, Yasir drags it short and outside off, Silva goes back in the crease and cuts it late to third man for a boundary. Silva is reading the length well

65.2 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, very short from Yasir Shah, Mathews rocks back quickly to pull it through deep mid-wicket for a boundary. Poor delivery from Yasir

60.1 - Junaid Khan to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, too many freebies from the Pakistan bowlers, Junaid Khan comes round the wicket and delivers it short on the pads, Silva helps it on its way towards the fine leg fence, hardly any soul moved

59.1 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, short and asking to pull/slog/heave across the line, Silva had to wait for ages for the ball to arrive, he goes on the back foot and pulls it hard through mid-wicket, that's easy pickings for a settled batsman

58.2 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, wristy again from the skipper, he takes a step forward to this slightly fuller delivery and takes it on the full, he whips it wide of mid-on and the ball races away in a hurry

58.0 - Junaid Khan to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, full and in the slot, what a way to get to your fifty, a well-deserved one for Silva, gets the reward for being patient, this was full and wide and all that Silva needed to do was to throw his bat at it, he just about does that as he manages to essay an excellent drive through cover, no need to run for those

56.3 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, whipped and whipped nicely by the skipper, this was a touch fuller and outside off, Mathews with his wonderful wrists whips it wide of the diving mid-on, good power, reminded me of the great "VVS"

50.5 - Yasir Shah to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, this was tossed up nicely and invites the batsman to come forward, Silva acknowledges the offer and drives it through cover, superbly timed shot after coming down the track

50.0 - Babar to Thirimanne, FOUR, Thirimanne advances and times this one quite well, it was tossed up nicely on the stumps, Thirimanne goes with the loft and connects it well, a couple of bounces and into the long-on fence

47.2 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, this is much better from Silva, advances to this flighted delivery and lifts it over the bowler's head, to the long-off fence

38.3 - Junaid Khan to Sangakkara, FOUR, width from Junaid Khan and Sangakkara puts that away. Full and wide outside off, Sangakkara threw the bat at that and got it over the right-hand of the leaping wide gully fielder. Raced away to the vacant third man fence

27.0 - Junaid Khan to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, short and slightly wide outisde off, Silva throws his bat at this wide delivery as he went for the cut, he gets a thick outside edge that flies through the gap between gully and backward point, bonus runs for Sri Lanka

24.5 - Junaid Khan to Sangakkara, FOUR, length delivery sitting up nicely for the batsman, Sangakkara leans on the back foot and cuts it in the air behind backward point, Yasir gave the chase but he couldn't prevent it from kissing the ropes, good effort from the leggie

21.2 - Yasir Shah to D Karunaratne, FOUR, this time, Yasir strays down leg, Karunaratne goes deep in the crease and glances it through fine leg for a boundary

16.1 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, lovely shot by Silva! He uses his feet to a floated up delivery from Babar and lofts it over the bowler's head for a boundary. It went two bounces before it reached the boundary boards

13.5 - Riaz to D Karunaratne, FOUR, superbly essayed drive off the back foot by Karunaratne. It was a back of a length delivery and just outside off, Karunaratne stands tall to find the gap through cover for a boundary. With it he has now amassed 1,000 Test runs.

6.3 - Riaz to Kaushal Silva, FOUR, drifts onto the pads this time, Silva tickles it fine and the ball brushes the thigh pad before it flies to the left of the keeper, who dives but fails to get a hand to it. It runs away to the fence in no time

5.3 - Junaid Khan to D Karunaratne, FOUR, that's a lovely shot, full and angling in on the pads, Karunaratne clips it through mid-wicket and the ball runs away to the fence in no time

121.3 - Yasir Shah to Dushmantha Chameera, out Caught by Younis Khan!! So that will be it for Sri Lanka, Younis Khan takes a good catch, this was a flighted delivery spinning away from the batsman, Chameera kneels down and looks to slog it across the line, gets a top-edge that flies past the keeper, Younis Khan from first slip runs backwards and puts in a dive to take a well-judged catch. Dushmantha Chameera c Younis Khan b Yasir Shah 2(16)

117.2 - Yasir Shah to Kaushal, out Caught by Misbah!! Five wickets for Yasir and he does the sajda! This was another lovely leg-break, pitched on off and spun away slightly, Kaushal lost his patience and looks to loft it across the line, gets a thick leading edge and back over the bowler's head. Misbah calls for the catch, runs to his right from cover and completes it. A well deserved five wicket haul for Yasir, he is all smiles. Kaushal c Misbah b Yasir Shah 18(44) [4s-2]

105.4 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, out Lbw!! Sri Lanka have lost both settled batsmen. This was the zooter from Yasir, went on a flatter trajectory and skidded through after pitching, Mathews was caught in his crease as he shuffled across, missed and the ball struck him low on the front pad. The impact was in front of middle and was going on to crash into the stumps. Umpire Illingworth is vindicated, Sri lanka have lost their 8th wicket now. Mathews lbw b Yasir Shah 77(153) [4s-8]

105.0 - Hafeez to Dhammika, out Lbw!! That's a terrible judgement of length from Prasad! This was tossed up and on the stumps, Prasad opted to play the sweep, doesn't get down low and the ball hits his pads even before he could bring his bat down. The impact was in front of off, the ball would have been crashing into middle as well. Simple call for umpire Ravi. Prasad goes towards his skipper, but he knew that it was OUT, decides against a review and walks off. Much needed wicket for Pakistan, this partnership was threatening to take the match away from them. Dhammika lbw b Hafeez 35(77) [4s-4]

80.5 - Yasir Shah to Kithuruwan Vithanage, out Bowled!! This is reckless stuff from the home team, the skipper is battling out at the other end and all that you needed to do is just to offer the strike, but Sri Lankan batsmen are finding some innovative ways to get out here, this was tossed up and on the stumps, Vithanage attempts a reverse sweep without balance, he is nowhere near to the pitch of the ball, misses the ball completely and is knocked over, Marvan Atapattu doesn't seem pleased with the way things are going. Kithuruwan Vithanage b Yasir Shah 3(6)

77.0 - Yasir Shah to Chandimal, out Bowled!! Chandimal takes the long walk back to the pavilion! He came down the track, tried to play against the spin of a tossed up delivery, played all around it, almost yorked himself and could only hear the death rattle. He lost focus there to a straighter one from Yasir. Chandimal b Yasir Shah 1(5)

75.4 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, out Kaushal Silva Run Out!! Bad running between the wickets by Silva leads to his run out. Silva advances down the track and drives it to Yasir at mid-on, who throws it back to Sarfraz and the keeper does the rest. Unfortunately, Mathews didn't respond to the call and that resulted in the run out of Silva. Silva also slipped while going back to the striker's end. Silva was near Mathews and he was the one who was looking for the single. Terrible call from Silva. Gift of a wicket for Pakistan. Kaushal Silva run out (Yasir Shah/Sarfraz Ahmed) 80(218) [4s-10]

54.2 - Yasir Shah to Thirimanne, out Caught by Azhar Ali!! This time Azhar Ali manages to latch onto it, but only on the second attempt, this was nicely tossed up by Yasir, Thirimanne looks to defend it, he gets an inside edge onto the pads before the ball lobbed towards FSL, Azhar Ali juggled a little bit on the first attempt but manages to grab it on the second attempt, another wasted opportunity for Thirimanne. Thirimanne c Azhar Ali b Yasir Shah 7(39) [4s-1]

43.2 - Babar to Sangakkara, out Caught by Shafiq!! Sangakkara has holed out. That is unnecessary from the veteran. There was a long-on in place, he took on the fielder and didn't clear him. Came down the track to play the lofted shot and got it off the middle, the elevation though wasn't there and Shafiq judged it well, taking the catch and tumbling backwards - did well to stay inside the field of play as the ropes weren't too far away from him. Sangakkara c Shafiq b Babar 34(70) [4s-2]

22.1 - Junaid Khan to D Karunaratne, out Caught by Sarfraz Ahmed!! That will be 50 Test wickets for Junaid Khan against Sri Lanka in Test cricket, Karunaratne threw it away after playing with a lot of patience and intent, this was a shortish delivery well wide outside off, Karunaratne went for the slash with no feet movement, gets a thick outside edge and the ball carries to Sarfraz at at comfortable height, who catches it with ease. D Karunaratne c Sarfraz Ahmed b Junaid Khan 28(67) [4s-3]

74.0 - Babar to Mathews, 2 runs, dropped! Yasir gets into a tangle and drops the catch at mid-on. Mathews came down the track and tries to whip it away, gets a leading edge and it went to Yasir who makes a mess out of it. He ran to his left at mid-on, got both hands, but takes his eyes off the ball and spills the catch. Mathews uttered an expletive after completing the shot and put his head down. He knew he was gone but luckily survives due to Yasir's miss. That is a bad drop. A couple of members in the Pakistan team can't believe it

51.5 - Babar to Thirimanne, no run, dropped, how much is this going to cost? that was a dolly and Azhar Ali is caught napping at FSL, this was flighted delivery on middle and off, Thirimanne with soft hands looks to turn it to the on-side, the ball goes straight to Azhar Ali at FSL, he fails to latch onto it, the ball hits him on the left-arm before it hit him on the stomach, poor stuf from Pakistan, can't afford to drop these chances

110.4 - Hafeez to Herath, no run, this was tossed up on the leg-stump line and went with the angle, Herath was looking to sweep, missed and is struck high on the pads, the impact was just outside leg and would have been going down as well. Good call from umpire Ravi

85.3 - Babar to Mathews, 1 run, that will be fifty for the Sri Lankan skipper and it will be his 23rd in Test match cricket, he gets there with a cut towards backward point, where Shehzad fumbles and allows Mathews to sneak through for a single

81.0 - Yasir Shah to Dhammika, no run, this was full and on the pads, Prasad leans forward to block, it looked like he got an inside edge on the pad, struck low on the pad, the close-in fielders and the keeper was confident, so Misbah, went for the review, but in vain. One angle on the replays showed he got an inside edge but the other angle showed it may have been pad first, so in the end the right call was made as it was too close to call. Inconclusive and Reiffel upheld the original decision

18.4 - Babar to Kaushal Silva, no run, tossed up delivery and just outside off, Silva advances to smother the spin, it seemed to have missed the inside edge of the bat as he tries to jam the bat down. The ball lobs up off the pad and the fielder at slip catches it. Both the slip fielder and the bowler belt out a huge appeal. They take a review, but the umpire upholds the decision on the basis of many replays

117.4 - Dhammika to Riaz, FOUR, sliding down leg, Riaz clips it off his pads towards fine leg fence, it was timed well and no need to run for those

112.1 - Dhammika to Azhar Ali, FOUR, full and outside off, Ali comes on the front foot and drives it through cover, Kaushal Silva from extra cover dives to his left but allows the ball to sneak through him

93.4 - Herath to Shafiq, FOUR, Shafiq advances down the track, takes it on the half-volley and lofts it over mid-on for a boundary. Pakistan's batsmen have used the crease brilliantly to counter Herath

88.5 - Dhammika to Azhar Ali, FOUR, rare loose delivery from Dhammika. He tries the yorker, turns out to be a low full-toss, Ali leans into the drive and collects a boundary through sweeper cover. He is into the nervous 90s now

87.0 - Dhammika to Shafiq, FOUR, bad length and bad line to end the proceedings before lunch, splays it into the pads after pitching it on a short length, Shafiq glances it down to fine leg fence, no need to run for those

84.2 - Dhammika to Shafiq, FOUR, length delivery outside off, Shafiq presses on the front foot and and pushes hard at it, gets a thick outside that flies past wide of gully, gets off the mark

82.5 - Dhammika to Misbah, FOUR, into the pads, Misbah tickles it down to fine leg, easy pickings that, no need to run for those

75.3 - Kaushal to Misbah, FOUR, gives this one more air, Misbah skips out and takes it on the full and goes through the drive, wide of mid-off and into the fence

68.3 - Dhammika to Younis Khan, FOUR, good length delivery and in the channel outside off, Younis goes for the drive, gets a thick outside edge that flies past the diving third slip fielder for a boundary. Younis is still not sure of where his off-stump is

65.4 - Mathews to Azhar Ali, FOUR, this delivery nips back off the seam, but Ali shuffles across and clips it to fine leg for a boundary. It was a risky shot as if he had missed it, there would have been a loud appeal for lbw from the bowler

56.3 - Kaushal to Younis Khan, FOUR, slower and short from Kaushal, Younis rocks on the back foot and cuts it square of the wicket, he timed it well, no need to run for those

55.0 - Kaushal to Younis Khan, FOUR, well flighted delivery outside off, Younis gets forward and hammers the drive through cover, the ball raced away to the fence in a hurry

50.5 - Kaushal to Azhar Ali, FOUR, doosra bouncing outside off, Ali rocks back and cuts it through cover, beats Herath who was running across, in fact he gave up the chase in the end

50.0 - Dhammika to Younis Khan, FOUR, fuller and outside off, you can't bowl that to one who has played more than 99 Tests, Younis drives it through cover and claims his first boundary

22.2 - Herath to Azhar Ali, FOUR, slightly quicker from Herath and outside off, Ali uses his feet superbly to essay a drive and find the gap through extra cover for a boundary. Both the batsmen aren't allowing Herath to settle down

21.3 - Kaushal to Azhar Ali, FOUR, this time, Kaushal drags it short, Ali goes back in the crease quickly and pulls it to deep square leg for a boundary

12.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, Shehzad again camps on the back foot to cut it past the diving gully fielder for a boundary. The fielder at third-man also put in a dive, but couldn't stop the boundary

12.2 - Dushmantha Chameera to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, Shehzad uses the extra pace on offer from Dushmantha Chameera to back cut past the diving gully fielder for a boundary

10.4 - Dhammika to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, full and straying on the pads, Shehzad flicks it through deep mid-wicket for a boundary. It was a poor ball and deservedly got punished.

9.5 - Mathews to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, beautifully played by Shehzad, Mathews drags his length back and gives the width to the batsman, Shehzad rocks back and punches it with good power, the fielder at backward point dived to his left, but fails to get a hand to it

2.5 - Dhammika to Hafeez, FOUR, pitched up and outside off, Hafeez throws his arms at it, he slices it over the leaping gully, risky shot that, first boundary for Hafeez

13.5 - Herath to Ahmed Shehzad, SIX, Shehzad decides to again hit against the spin, but this time succeeds. He lofts it over wide long-on for a six. It was a superb strike

118.2 - Dushmantha Chameera to Riaz, out Lbw!! Take a bow Wahab Riaz! After batting with a lot of pain, and surviving some scary deliveries he has been dismissed. Good spirit from the Pakistani bowler, despite nursing a fracture on his bowling hand, he came onto bat for his team's cause, that takes some dedication I can tell you. Coming to the wicket, it was a good length delivery aimed at the stumps, Riaz was looking to clip it down the leg-side, misses and is hit on the front pad after losing his balance. A loud appeal and is given out straightaway. Riaz lbw b Dushmantha Chameera 6(11) [4s-1]

116.2 - Dushmantha Chameera to Junaid Khan, out Caught by Chandimal!! The youngster gets his second wicket, he has a big smile on his face, Junaid Khan threw his wicket away going for a big slog, this was short and wide, Junaid stays on the back foot and looks to slog it across the line, gets an outside edge, and Chandimal latches onto one of the easiest catches. Junaid Khan c Chandimal b Dushmantha Chameera 3(9)

113.4 - Herath to Azhar Ali, out Stumped!! Well played Azhar Ali! He departs after playing a crucial knock for his side, gave his wicket away in quest of quick runs, Herath saw Ali coming down the track and pushed it through flatter and quicker, the ball spins past the face of the bat as Ali looked to work it towards the off-side, Chandimal does the rest, Azhar Ali walks back with a disappointed look on his face. Azhar Ali st Chandimal b Herath 117(308) [4s-6]

110.2 - Dhammika to Yasir Shah, out Bowled!! Fourth wicket for Dhammika and a well-deserved one, this was full and straight, Yasir looks to drive with laden feet, he gets a bottom edge and the ball goes onto hit the middle and off-stump, Yasir Shah doesn't trouble the scorers, he walks back with a sorry look on his face. Yasir Shah b Dhammika 0(11)

108.1 - Dhammika to Sarfraz Ahmed, out Caught by Chandimal!! This is needless from Sarfraz and Dhammika continues to impress, this was not at all a troubling delivery, Sarfraz could have easily left it all alone, Dhammika pitches it on a short length and delivers it wide of off, Sarfraz pokes at it away from his body, the thick edge flies to the keeper and Chandimal does the rest, it was a lazy shot from the Pakistan wicket-keeper, he wanted to guide it towards third man, but there were two slips placed for the edge. Sarfraz Ahmed c Chandimal b Dhammika 16(22)

98.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Shafiq, out Caught by Chandimal!! The ploy of banging it short has worked for young Chameera. It is banged in short and down leg, Shafiq tries to glance, but can only glove it to the keeper, who moves across to his left and takes the catch. Shafiq would be a disappointed man as he could have left that delivery alone. Pakistan have now lost half their side. Shafiq c Chandimal b Dushmantha Chameera 27(51) [4s-3]

83.0 - Dhammika to Misbah, out Lbw!! Much needed wicket for the home team, Misbah was hurried to play at this one, Dhammika pitches it on a good length and gets it to swing into the batsman, Misbah after moving across looks to work it to the leg-side, he missed it completely and the ball hits him above the knee roll, umpire gave it out as soon as Dhammika started to appeal, Misbah had a brief chat with Azhar Ali before he opted to review, it goes in vain though, the onfield call was upheld, Misbah trudges back to the pavilion with a grim face, he knows that the job is only half done. Misbah lbw b Dhammika 22(49) [4s-2]

69.3 - Mathews to Younis Khan, out Caught by Chandimal!! Mathews has struck for the hosts, goes wide of the crease and gets it to angle into the batsman, just straightened a bit after pitching, Younis is still searching for his off-stump and as a result pushes at it, gets an outside edge. The keeper completes the catch. This is the fourth time Mathews has dismissed Younis in Tests. Younis Khan c Chandimal b Mathews 40(67) [4s-4]

47.1 - Dhammika to Ahmed Shehzad, out Caught by Chandimal!! What is this Shehzad? What have you done? After all the hard work, Shehzad has gone out in the worst way possible, this wasn't a troubling delivery though, on a length and just outside off, Shehzad pulls it after rocking on the back foot, gets a thick top-edge that swirls in the air for a long time, Chandimal settled under it and takes it easily, a gift of a wicket for Sri Lanka. Ahmed Shehzad c Chandimal b Dhammika 69(154) [4s-4 6s-1]

3.1 - Mathews to Hafeez, out Caught by Sangakkara!! Poor stuff from Hafeez, Sri Lanka get their first breakthrough, it was pitched on a good length and gets it to straighten just outside off, Hafeez feels for the ball, he opens the face of the bat and looks to guide it towards third man, there wasn't enough room and he ended up poking at it, Sangakkara at first slip moves to his right and takes a simple catch. Hafeez c Sangakkara b Mathews 8(15) [4s-1]

63.0 - Dhammika to Azhar Ali, 1 run, Sangakkara has dropped this one at 1st slip! On a good length and shaping away, Ali comes half forward and pushes at it outside off, Sangakkara dives to his left, gets a hand to it and shells it, he should have taken it. It was in reality the keeper's catch but he didn't make an attempt

57.0 - Kaushal to Younis Khan, no run, short and slightly wide, Younis stays on the back foot and looks to cut it hard, he gets a thick outside edge and the ball kisses Chandimal's pads, would be harsh to call it as a drop, maybe Chandimal could have reacted better, he was in no position to take the catch though

113.3 - Herath to Azhar Ali, 2 runs, on the stumps, Ali whips it through mid-wicket and calls for a couple, fielder at deep mid-wicket gets to the ball quickly and throws it back to the bowler, Babar was slow in getting back and had to put in a big stride at the bowler's end, the throw was a little weak and Herath took a long time in breaking the stumps. Had the throw been quicker it could have been very tight

112.2 - Dhammika to Azhar Ali, no run, S Ravi raises his forefinger after a brief look as Dhammika started to appeal, but Azhar Ali is confident and he opts to review on this one, this was pitched on a good length and angled into the batsman, Ali shuffles across and looks to flick it fine, he misses and is hit on the pad, he reviews and survives

100.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Azhar Ali, 2 runs, Azhar has composed his 9th century! Just reward for the determination and self-belief shown by him. His defence has been immaculate and has shown good shot selection. He acknowledges the crowd by taking his helmet off. Azhar's son, in the stands holds a piece of paper that says "well done baba". It is a back of a length delivery and outside off, Ali stays back in the crease, punches it past mid-off and takes a couple of runs to complete his ton. Interestingly, there was a direct-hit at the non-striker's end from Mathews, but Sarfraz was in

81.5 - Mathews to Misbah, 1 run, a direct hit would have made things interesting, this was a back of a length delivery delivered on middle and off, Misbah hops across slightly and turns it down towards deepish short leg region, makes a late call for the single, Azhar Ali manages to make his crease as he puts in the stride, fielder runs across and attempts a direct hit at the striker's end, but fails to hit the stumps

60.5 - Dhammika to Younis Khan, no run, the hosts have gone up for a review for caught behind! It seemed to have missed the outside edge though. There seems like a daylight between bat and ball. The umpire after going through replays rightly upheld the original decision. Waste of a review. It was a length delivery that straightened after pitching from Dhammika, Younis came half forward, pushed away from his body and was beaten on the outside edge.

34.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Ahmed Shehzad, 3 runs, that will be his third Test fifty and guess what! All three have come against Sri Lanka, a good knock from the opener, this was short and slightly wide, Shehzad goes on the back foot and pulls it hard, doesn't time it that well, but the ball flies over mid-on and rolls towards the long-on fence, gets three

20.3 - Herath to Ahmed Shehzad, no run, Sri Lanka have gone for a review for lbw. There was an inside edge, so it can't be given out. The umpire rightly doesn't overturn the decision. Shehzad steps down the track, gets an inside edge onto the front pad. He was also a long way down the crease. In fact, 3.37 metres down the track.

26.3 - Yasir Shah to Thirimanne, FOUR, Sri Lanka record their first win in 6 years at this ground, they square the series with this win, Mathews is a happy skipper while Thirimanne played a handy role towards the end, this was full and outside off, Thirimanne comes down the track and squeezes it through backward point. The ball rolls slowly away into the fence. Mathews and Thirimanne congratulate each other and the Sri Lankan dressing room is all smiles.

24.3 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, tossed up outside off, Mathews comes forward and lofts it over mid-on, for a one bounce four

19.5 - Junaid Khan to Mathews, FOUR, Mathews showing his full reportoire of his shots. He uses the upper-cut to guide it over the slip cordon for a boundary. He kept his eyes on the ball and that helped him to get underneath the ball there

19.3 - Junaid Khan to D Karunaratne, FOUR, this time, Karunaratne takes the chance by pulling it through backward square leg for a boundary. There were two fielders in the deep, but he found the gap there. It was in the air for a while

12.0 - Yasir Shah to D Karunaratne, FOUR, Karunaratne comes down the track and drives this floated up delivery from Yasir all along the ground to beat long-off and long-on. Hit all along the ground and timed to perfection, Misbah isn't a happy man

11.4 - Yasir Shah to Mathews, FOUR, Mathews plays this inside out to a delivery that was on the stumps over cover for a boundary. He picked the length early and that helped him there

11.1 - Yasir Shah to D Karunaratne, FOUR, Karunaratne shows improvisation by bringing out the reverse sweep and collect a boundary through third man. It was tossed up from around the wicket, Karunaratne was quick to use the reverse sweep to outfox the bowler

5.5 - Yasir Shah to Kithuruwan Vithanage, FOUR, Yasir Shah drags it short, Vithanage rocks back and pulls it to deep square leg for a boundary. He bisected two fielders on the fence to perfection

3.4 - Hafeez to Kithuruwan Vithanage, FOUR, Oh! Just over the fielder at short cover. Misbah jumps in the air and tries to take it with both hands, but he needed to be a few inches taller. Vithanage drove that delivery on the up and he certainly has come out all guns blazing

2.4 - Junaid Khan to Kithuruwan Vithanage, FOUR, Vithanage has picked the length very early there! It was a short delivery from Junaid, Vithanage just pulls it in front of square on the on-side for a boundary. It rocketed to the boundary boards

0.5 - Junaid Khan to Kithuruwan Vithanage, FOUR, Sri Lanka have certainly come out with a positive intent. Vithanage picks up a delivery that is slightly down leg over mid-wicket for a boundary. A risky shot as if he had missed, there would have been an appeal for lbw

0.1 - Junaid Khan to D Karunaratne, FOUR, Well, action from ball one itself! It was fuller and just shaping back into Karunaratne, he drives this one through mid-on, it was in the air, the fielder at mid-on puts in the dive to his right, but it goes past him for a boundary. A positive stroke from Karuna but he would've had his heart in his mouth for a second

6.3 - Babar to Kithuruwan Vithanage, SIX, Vithanage certainly has the reputation for big-hitting. He is showing it here for sure. This time he brings out the slog sweep and thwacks it over mid-wicket

6.2 - Babar to Kithuruwan Vithanage, SIX, Oh! boy! Vithanage has given that everything as it goes sailing straight down the ground for a six. It was a tossed up delivery from Babar, Vithanage uses his feet and loft it down the ground for a six

20.2 - Yasir Shah to D Karunaratne, out Lbw!! This was slightly short and spinning in, stayed a bit low, Karunaratne rocked back to pull this behind square, he missed it completely and is hit on the back leg, he was so close to the stumps too. Umpire gave it out straightaway. D Karunaratne lbw b Yasir Shah 50(57) [4s-4]

7.1 - Yasir Shah to Sangakkara, out Caught by Azhar Ali!! Sangakkara too goes - for a golden duck! He gloves this sharply turning delivery onto the thigh pad and FSL takes the catch. It was Yasir's ability to go wide of the crease and turn in that that made Sangakkara play at it. He would be a disappointed man for sure. It is the first golden duck for Sangakkara against Pak. Sangakkara c Azhar Ali b Yasir Shah 0(1)

7.0 - Babar to Kithuruwan Vithanage, out Caught by Hafeez!! Another slog sweep was always coming. Vithanage though this time perishes while trying the shot. He tries to slog sweep a tossed up delivery from around the wicket, gets a top edge, it flies to Hafeez at deep mid-wicket, who takes a well-judged catch. Kithuruwan Vithanage c Hafeez b Babar 34(23) [4s-4 6s-2]

19.4 - Junaid Khan to D Karunaratne, 1 run, sixth fifty for Karunaratne. It has just come off 55 balls. Short and wide from Junaid, Karunaratne cuts it to sweeper cover and takes a single. It has been a fine innings as he has twinned caution with aggression
