Pakistan have got a good total on the board but considering the form the Kiwi batsmen have been in for quite sometime now, this does not seem to be a safe one. However, a Pakistani fan would be hoping that Mohammad Amir makes it big on his comeback. As far as the Pakistani innings was concerned, it once again revolved around Hafeez. But somehow, he consumed a little more than his team would have wanted him to. The credit also goes to captain Afridi as he launched a flurry of strokes to provide the much needed impetus. For New Zealand, Santner was brilliant giving away only 14 runs in his quota of overs and prising out two scalps. New Zealaned looked like they were coasting towards victory at one stage, but a middle-order meltdown cost them dear. They lost Guptill early, after a horrible misunderstanding with his skipper. It didn't matter a lot, Williamson struggled but fought his guts out, Munro took the attack to the bowling and an easy win was on the cards. Pakistan kept pegging away, Munro was cleaned up for 56, the inexperienced middle-order faltered and Williamson was left to do too much towards the end. Pakistan go 1-0 up and will look to wrap up the series when the two teams move across to Hamilton, for the second T20I.
