Sandeep Patil applies for the post of Indian Team Head Coach

Chief Selector Sandeep Patil has applied for the high-profile post of Indian senior men's team head coach.

Patil stated,

I have just applied (for the post).

According to BCCI’s ‘advertisement’, a candidate applying for head coach's job should have successfully coached a cricket team of any of the member countries of the ICC, at the first class or at the international level; should be able to prepare and present a coaching plan elaborating the approach for 'Team India' to attain leadership position in all formats of the game.

Sandeep Patil has previously coached the Kenya team.

Rumours were rife that he had been advised by higher-ups in the Board to apply for the job as the senior selection panel headed by him has already completed most of its top-level assignments till September when his term is scheduled to come to an end but he didn’t confirm this.

If Patil is selected as the head coach before September, he will have to quit his current job as the chief selector.
