Get out and make history
|
|
In 1971, in a County Championship match, Glamorgan's Don Shepherd found himself walking out to bat with the scoreboard showing 11 for 8, one run short of the lowest ever first class total.
"Shall I get out and make history, or hang about and make a couple?", he asked his partner.
He chose to do the latter.
He remained not out on 2 when the final wicket fell at 24.
