Harry Trott was the first great Australian captain, in the 1890s.
When Trott was returning from England in 1896, a reporter in Philadelphia asked him if he had ever heard of baseball.
Trott: " Of course we have."
Reporter: "Then why don't you play it?"
Trott: " Running around in circles makes us giddy....."
