Pakistan and the inaugural World Cup

The ICC annual meeting was scheduled to happen on June 25th and June 26th in 1975.
Pakistan requested the ICC to prepone the meeting.
The emergency meeting was held on May 30th, a week before the start of the World Cup.
Prince Philip was unavailable and the meeting was chaired by Gubby Allen.
They were so keen because they wanted to stop unlimited bouncers and intimidating fast bowling in the World Cup!
