In 2003, when Rahul Dravid hit that boundary to win the match at Adelaide, Steve Waugh retrieved the ball from the gutter and handed it over to Dravid.
The mutual respect grew.
After the series was over, Waugh requested Dravid to write the foreword to his autobiography.
Dravid happily obliged.
