What a revelation! An Indian team that wins because of its pace bowlers. Watching Munaf Patel and Irfan Pathan bowling in tandem was delightful. Granted, the pitch was not an ideal batting track, but it did not have that many devils in it. It was genuinely good and accurate bowling that did England in. And we have more bowlers in the reserves. This is unprecedented for Indian pace bowling.

The only piece that does not fit is the continued selection of Ajit Agarkar. For someone who has been such an inconsistent performer, he certainly gets a lot of opportunities. He does have the knack of getting the breakthrough, but his inconsistency with bat and ball should ensure that he is not selected again. Why was a bowler like Sreesanth passed over for Agarkar? And what happened to Balaji? How can a bowler who was the hero of a tour to Pakistan be left out in the cold?
