Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene are the newest members of a committee that includes Anura Tennakoon and Aravinda de Silva that seeks to bring some life back into cricket in Sri Lanka. The initial focus of the committee will be on issues relating to the many injuries that regularly plague Sri Lankan players, though their purview may expand with time.
Sri Lanka has almost never had a consistent attack of fast bowlers in the recent past as injuries and niggles have laid low almost every pace bowler at some point in time.
Another issue that may be considered by the committee is improving or providing an alternative to the domestic cricket system, which often relies on school cricket to produce wunderkinds, the most recent being Kusal Mendis.
