Nasser Hussain sets Guinness World record for highest cricket catch

Former England cricket star Nasser Hussain has set a new Guinness World Record or the highest catch of a cricket ball from 150ft.

Dropped from a 'Batcam' drone above Lord's Cricket Ground, Hussain had three attempts to catch the ball from a minimum 100ft drop and plummeting towards him at estimated speeds of 74 miles per hour.

The right-handed batsman who captained England between 1999 and 2003, made no mistake and plucked the record catch out of the air on his first attempt.

Not content with his effortless first attempt, Hussain, increased the height of the drone further and the challenge was all in part to promote a busy summer of cricket on Sky Sports.

After setting the record, Hussain said -

It was great fun attempting to catch cricket balls dropped from a drone at the home of cricket - something I never thought I would do. But I am now looking forward to giving my hands a rest and getting back to the commentary box for the upcoming Test match.

Sky Sports have always been looking to push the limits and be innovative in their approach to coverage and this challenge was to promote a busy summer of cricket on Sky Sports.
