Mark Boucher roped in by KKR as Wicketkeeping Consultant

Former South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher has been called in as a wicketkeeping consultant by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

39-year-old Boucher played for KKR way back in 2011 but started his IPL career in 2008 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He will be joining his former South African teammate Jacques Kallis in the coaching staff.

A KKR source stated,

Yes, we have roped in Mark Boucher as the wicket-keeping consultant.

Robin Uthappa and Sheldon Jackson are the only two wicketkeepers in the KKR squad at the moment. However, only Uthappa has been keeping the wickets and has performed impressively with the bat too as he has scored 313 runs from nine games.

Boucher, one of the best wicketkeepers to have played for South Africa, appeared in a total of 25 T20Is in his career and scored 268 runs. A freak eye injury in 2012 forced him to quit all forms of the game.
