Manish Pandey Ruled Out For Two Weeks

There is bad news for all the Kolkata Knight Riders fans. One of their batting mainstays, Manish Pandey has been ruled out of the matches in the next couple of weeks as he has been diagnosed with chicken pox. The Kolkata Knight Riders are doing well in the Indian Premier League so far and this will surely be a big blow to them.

Manish Pandey is a pillar of strength in their batting line-up, especially in the middle order which has not really been tested in the tournament so far. According to the reports, Pandey is expected to miss out on the games in the next two weeks.  Two-time IPL champions KKR, however, have neither confirmed nor denied the report.

The right-handed batsman has been an important member for the Kolkata Knight Riders. In the four matches he played this season, Pandey has scored 90 runs. He scored a brilliant half-century off just 29-balls in the match against Mumbai Indians even though it went in vain.

With Pandey gone, what will be interesting to see is who captain Gautam Gambhir will field in place of him.

Pandey was the Man of the Match in the finals of IPL 2014 when KKR defeated the Kings XI Punjab to win their second title. He also hit a century against Australia in the 5th and final ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground on 23rd January, 2016.
