Indian team's training camp begins in Bengaluru today

The preparatory camp for the upcoming West Indies tour has commenced in Bangalore.

India are set to play four Test matches against the West Indies in the Caribbean.

This is also the first opportunity for newly-appointed coach Anil Kumble to formally meet the Test team.

The camp is taking place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Kumble’s home ground.

Indian Cricket Team’s West Indies tour will commence with a couple of practice matches in St Kitts.

The first Test will take place in Antigua on July 21, followed by games in Jamaica, Gros Islet and Trinidad.

The tour is not going to be an easy one  for the Indian team.

Windies are the World T20 champions, and have recently reached the final of the tri-series, which also featured Australia and South Africa.

Speaking ahead of the training camp, pacer Mohammad Shami said - 

 

 

West Indies is the kind of team that can give you a run for your money on a given day. So you have to be very focused and aware.

 

 

The Windies tour will start a long season for Virat Kohli’s Indian Cricket Team, who are set to play as many as 13 Tests.

After Windies series, New Zealand will be coming to India for three Test matches.
