Sri Lanka will begin their three-match Twenty20 International tour of India with the opening game in Pune on February 9, Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Wednesday (January 20).
The two teams will then meet in Delhi on February 12 for the second T20I while the last match will be played in Visakhapatnam on February 14.
The short series is part of the build-up to the World T20, of which Sri Lanka are the defending champions, in India in March-April.
India and Sri Lanka will also be among teams involved in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh before the World T20. It will be the 13th edition of the Asia Cup but the first time it will played in the T20 format in a move to aid the teams’ preparations for the premier international T20 tournament.
Sri Lanka’s last tour to India was in 2014, where they filled in for a five-match One-Day International series after West Indies pulled out of their tour midway. Sri Lanka ended up losing all five matches.
