BCCI has invited for more applications for the post of Indian cricket coach.

After Anil Kumble stepped down as the India coach, BCCI wants to give Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) a wide range of options for picking a suitable candidate.

A period of 7-10 days will be given for the interested candidates to apply for the job.

A senior BCCI official said,

“

Look, when we had invited applications last time, Anil was an automatic entry. That might have prompted a lot of people from thinking that what’s the need to apply when current coach is doing well and is in the mix, now the situation has completely changed. A lot of people will now be interested knowing it’s an open field.

”

BCCI wants to appoint new coach before the tour of Sri Lanka where India will play 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 1 T20I between July 26th to September 6. Presently, Indian cricket team is in West Indies, where they will play an ODI series, from where they will fly straight to Sri Lanka for a very long tour.
