Third bowling action suspension for Hafeez

Mohammad Hafeez, the batting all-rounder from Pakistan, has been found to have an illegal bowling action again - making this the third time he has been suspended from bowling since November 2014. Hafeez currently leads the ICC rankings for ODI all-rounders, ahead of Shakib al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi and Ben Stokes.

The 37-year-old's right arm offspin bowler's action was reported as suspect during the ODI series against Sri Lanka in the UAE. According to the ICC, a significant number of deliveries were bowled while flexing his arm in excess of the permitted 15 degrees during a test at the Loughborough facility.

Given the flexibility he offers the Pakistan team, it seems likely that he will work on recrafting his action. Pakistan will next tour New Zealand for a limited overs series in January, which Hafeez will most probably miss, but he may have rectified his action sufficiently in time for their tour of England in May 2018.
