Sunil Narine to miss Kolkata Knight Riders' opening match

Kolkata Knight Riders may not be able to use their mystery spinner Sunil Narine for their Indian Premier League opener against Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Sunil Narine, the West Indies spinner had arrived in Kolkata last week but had to suddenly return back to his hometown due to the sad demise of his father.
KKR coach Jaques Kallis stated,

We are certainly not putting any pressure on him to get back. It's something that I've been through. I know how tough a time it is. When he's right and he feels he's ready to play cricket he will come to us.

Narine had been pulled out of the T20 World Cup because of his suspect action but has now remodelled his action and Kallis said they're hopeful to get a positive verdict from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

"He has done a lot of work. We haven't got official verdict from the ICC yet but hopefully it will come back positive. I'm pretty sure of it."
