Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury has informed that the Australian cricket team is likely to tour Bangladesh later this year for a two-Test series.
Australia and Bangladesh will play two tests series later this year in August and September in Dhaka.
Australia last toured Bangladesh in 2006 under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting.
In October 2015, Australia had to postpone their tour of Bangladesh because of the warning received from federal government that there were high risks if they went ahead with the tour.
Australia also did not send their team for the U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in early 2016.
