Pakistan announce ODI and T20 squads for West Indies tour

Pakistan have announced their ODI and T20 squads for their tour of West Indies.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal makes a comeback into the squads after 3 years while Ahmed Shehzad has also been called up to the squads.

Akmal last played for Pakistan in the 2014 World T20 and has since has his central contract cut off. However, his performance in the domestic circuit and the Pakistan Super League and earned him a call-up.

Ahmed Shehzad last played for Pakistan in the 2016 World T20 and was then dropped for disciplinary charges. His performance in the domestic circuit, as well as the PSL, has seen him claw his way back into the teams.

Azhar Ali, Pakistan’s former ODI captain was dropped from the sides while 6 uncapped players were given chances.

Pakistan’s comeback hero Mohammad Amir has been rested for the T20s.

Batsman Fakhar Zaman’s brilliant run in the PSL earned him a debut call-up to the squads.
