Mohammad Irfan provisionally suspended by PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have provisionally suspended Mohammad Irfan for alleged involvement in corruption in the Pakistan Super League.

During the recently concluded PSL, investigations were in full force as it was reported that players were conducting in match fixing.

A few players like Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif and Nasir Jamshed were booked for their alleged involvements.

Irfan was questioned during the PSL but was let off. However, he was summoned yet again and it has come to light that he was approached by a bookie during the PSL.

A press release stated,

 

 

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in furtherance to its investigation issued a Notice of Charge and provisionally suspended Irfan under the PCB Anti-Corruption Code. Irfan has been charged with two violations of Code Article 2.4.4 and now has 14 days to respond to the Notice of Charge. He has also been provisionally suspended with immediate effect from participating in all forms of cricket.

failing to disclose to the PCB Vigilance and Security Department (without unnecessary delay) full details of any approaches or invitations received by the Participant to engage in Corrupt Conduct under this Anti-Corruption Code.

 

 

Irfan has now become the 4th player to be found involved in the PSL corruption scandal.
