Mitchell Marsh, Chris Lynn ruled out of Pakistan ODI series

Australia allrounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan.

A troublesome right shoulder has forced him to be withdrawn from the remainder of the ODI series.

After being announced in the Test squad for Australia’s tour of India, they’ll want him to recover as soon as possible.

Australia captain Steve Smith said,

He's got an ongoing issue with his shoulder and we're giving him some time off to get that right. He could be a very key player for us in India and he hasn't been able to bowl the speeds he would like. We know how important air-speed is in India, especially with the ball reversing, so we need to be able to get that right.

Star batsman Chris Lynn was also pulled out before the 2nd ODI due to an ongoing problem with his neck. He has flown to Brisbane where his participation in the rest of the ODIs will be decided.

Batsman Peter Handscomb has been added to the squad as Lynn’s replacement and Marsh’s replacement is yet to be named.

Australia lost the 2nd ODI against Pakistan and the 5-match series is tied at 1-1 with 3 more games to go.
