Just two weeks after the BCCI announced that it would be hosting a Mini IPL in September this year, it has initiated talks with the broadcasters Star India. 

And according to sources, it looks like BCCI is thinking of hosting it either in North America or in UAE. 

It is perhaps very soon going to make a decision on its venue and scheduling. 

What is also bound to happen soon is the BCCI’s meeting with the IPL franchises to discuss about the tournament and all its relevant details. 

These details could be about finances, operations, player availability, player fees, duration etc.

The IPL’s franchises are the biggest stakeholders of the league which is being planned to be hosted in the month of September. 

The BCCI will therefore have to convey information about the league to them soon. 

The Mini IPL if it is finalized to be played in the month of September, will begin almost just after India’s tour of West Indies. 

The Indian cricketers could then fly straight to North America from there, if that is the destination for the tournament.

Although, UAE could also be a top choice as the time zone there, could suit Indian television viewers.

However, a number of aspects will be cleared only after the BCCI holds a meeting with the franchises and confirms all the details of the league.
