Melbourne Stars batsman Kevin Pietersen has been fined AUD 5000 for criticizing the umpire’s decision on air while fielding.
Pietersen was wearing a microphone while fielding during the Big Bash League semi-final and after the umpire gave a wrong decision, Pietersen expressed his disappointment on air.
He said,
“
That was a shocker, an absolute shocker. He says it could have been glove or pad, and I said, 'well, he's got big gloves and big pads to reach that'. Massive nick.'
”
Pietersen can appeal the match referee’s decision within 48 hours.
