England Women to tour West Indies for 5 ODIs in October

England Women are all set to tour West Indies Women for an ODI series against the hosts in October 2016.

All five matches will be played in Jamaica. The final three matches at Sabina Park in Kingston will also serve as qualifiers for the ICC Women's Championship.

England coach Mark Robinson stated,

We all saw during the ICC Women's World T20 what a talented side they (West Indies) are, and they will be especially dangerous in home conditions. It should be a really exciting tour and a challenge that we will relish.

West Indies are currently ranked second in the championship table while England are at sixth. The top four teams in the table will qualify for the Women's World Cup in 2017. The rest will participate in a qualifying tournament in early 2017 which will also feature teams from the ICC's regional structures.

Neither team has played international cricket since the World T20 in March. However, England will be playing against Pakistan in June and July.

Tour Schedule:

October 8 - 1st ODI, Montego Bay
October 10th - 2nd ODI, Montego Bay
October 14 - 3rd ODI, Kingston
October 16 - 4th ODI, Kingston
October 19th - 5th ODI, Kingston
