David Willey ruled out of ODI series against Pakistan

England left-arm seamer David Willey has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan after suffering a hand injury.

Willey injured his hand in the final of the T20 Blast Finals Day. He was struck by a fierce return drive from Mark Stoneman.

He continued to bowl and even opened for the team but he was in significant pain.

An ECB statement said,

An X-ray on Sunday has not excluded a significant injury and he will undergo a further scan on Monday as well as being assessed by a consultant.

He has been replaced by Jake Ball. This is his first call-up to the ODI side after debuting for the Test side against Pakistan.

England take on Pakistan in the 1st ODI on August 24, 2016.
