BCB hand out new contracts and hiked salaries to players

The Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) has hiked up the salaries of the Bangladesh players and handed new contracts to 4 new players. 

Mehedi Hasan, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Mosaddek Hossain and Taskin Ahmed have been handed contracts while Nasir Hossain, Al-Amin Hossain and Arafat Sunny have been taken off the contract list. 

Mehedi, Rabbi and Taijul Islam have been included in the grade D category and will receive US $15,000 each this year, as opposed to $11,250.  

Rubel, Taskin, Mosaddek and Mustafizur Rahman have been pushed up a grade higher, and are set to receive $22,500 each as compared to their previous pay of $15,000. 

The other contracted players are: 

Grade A+: Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal 

Grade A: Mahmudullah 

Grade B: Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Sabbir Rahman, Soumya Sarkar 

Grade C: Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mosaddek Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman 

Grade D: Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Mehedi Hasan 

The sudden change in salaries has come after the senior Bangladeshi players complained that other teams were earning much higher than them, even teams like Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Recently, Bangladesh announced their 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy, which begins on June 1st, 2017.
