Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin will miss the second Ashes Test at Lord’s with New South Wales gloveman Peter Nevill set to make his Test debut.

Haddin failed to train with the Australian team in London on Tuesday while Nevill completed a rigorous session.

At 29, Nevill will get his first baggy green when the Test begins on Thursday.

Peter Michael Nevill (born 13 October 1985) is an Australian professional cricketer currently contracted domestically to New South Wales and the Melbourne Renegades, having previously also played for the Sydney Sixers.

Playing as a wicket-keeper, Nevill played for the Australian under-19 cricket team, and made his first-class début for New South Wales against Victoria at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in February 2009. In that match, Nevill made 18 and 0 and took one catch.

In March 2012, he was called up to the Australian squad during the team's tour of the West Indies, in place of Brad Haddin, although he did not play a game on the tour.

Bradley James Haddin (born 23 October 1977 in Cowra, New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer who has represented Australia in all three forms of international cricket (Test, One-Day International and Twenty20 International).

He also plays for the New South Wales Blues in both domestic first class and list A cricket. Haddin is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper.

He retired from One Day International Cricket on 17 May 2015, following Australia's win at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

He also became the ambassador for his home ground, Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) along with Steven Smith.
