Welcome back.. New Zealand fought back well after Pakistan threatened to post a massive score. 290 is still very competitive though. Can Pakistan square the series?
Babar Azam and Mohammed Hafeez played a wide range of shots to help Pakistan post a sizeable total. On a flat deck, the duo explored every nook and corner of the ground to send the opposition on a leather hunt. Sarfraz and Malik also played useful hands. However, just in the nick of time, Milne, Boult and Henry bowled with purpose to keep Pakistan's total below 300. The visitors did not even bat their full quota of 50 overs. Join us in a while for New Zealand's innings...

It was a short tour of 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. Barring the victory in the opening T20I, Pakistan didn't find much happiness. New Zealand will now brace themselves for stiffer challenges. Australia visit them for a 3-match ODI series and 2 Tests, beginning with the opening ODI at this very ground on February 3rd. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Brendon McCullum: 'I thought it was a good game, we were under pressure, I thought they would score 340-350 at one time. Credit to our bowlers, they fought back well and we took the momentum with us in the chase. We had some luck with the bat, a couple of crucial moments went in our favour and that turned the game. I was resigned to a big chase, Guptill and Williamson batted superbly, I thought the rain came at the right time, in a shortened game, the team chasing has the advantage, there were a couple of key moments that we won and that proved to be difference in the end. Pakistan played well on this tour, we wish them well in the future.'
Azhar Ali: 'We played good cricket, batted really well, couldn't finish it off well, but had a good total to defend. Unfortunately, we couldn't defend. I think we fell short by 30-40 runs, we lost wickets at crucial times. We tried hard, but they played better. Their second wicket stand was good, but we fought back with quick wickets, but they held on. Congrats to New Zealand for the series win.'
Guptill: 'It was a tough wicket, diffficult to time the ball at times. I had to fight hard, happy that we had a record stand, but more happy to win. Pakistan put up a great fight, they are a tough team to beat. It was a wonderful series, looking forward to the T20 World Cup and the Australia series now.'
Martin Guptill is the MoM for his 81-ball 82
New Zealand take the 3-match series 2-0. Pakistan gave a good account of themselves, but will be probably look back at their own batting collapse which cost them plenty of runs. 291 wasn't going to be an easy chase. It got worse after skipper Brendon McCullum went for a first ball duck. Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson took charge, added a record second wicket stand before both fell in their eighties. Pakistan kept fighting and reduced the hosts to 210/5 when rain finally forced a break in play. Upon resumption, they should have had Ronchi, but he was reprieved by Hafeez and then Corey Anderson got a big share of luck - after umpire Billy Bowden failed to detect a faint edge. Both were dismissed, but New Zealand completed the chase - with 3 wickets and 2 balls to spare.

18:40 Local Time, 05:40 GMT, 11:10 IST: It has stopped raining and the covers are coming off. We have lost around 45 minutes. Will we lose any overs?
18:30 Local Time, 05:30 GMT, 11:00 IST: It's just a light drizzle now, but the covers are still in place.
18:20 Local Time, 05:20 GMT, 10:50 IST: The rain has got heavier and we will soon start losing overs as well. Pakistan will be hoping for the rain to stop. It isn't heavy, but it's enough to keep everyone indoors.
18:05 Local Time, 05:05 GMT, 10:35 IST: The players can't come back until the rain stops completely. There are some blue patches as well as some dark threatening clouds around. I can spot a beautiful rainbow as well. Hopefully, the rain will ease out and we will have a complete match.
