Mitchell Starc has been included in Australia’s One-Day International squad to face West Indies and South Africa in a tri-series in the West Indies in June.

Starc has not featured in any match since fracturing his foot in last November’s iconic day-night Test in Adelaide against New Zealand and underwent ankle surgery. He has been named to lead the pace attack along with bowlers Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Coulter-Nile and John Hastings.

Rod Marsh, the chairman of selectors was quoted saying,

Mitchell has progressed very well in his rehab and the medical staff are confident he will be fit to play in this series. It is extremely pleasing to have a bowler of his calibre back in the side.

”

Nathan Lyon has been given another chance to shine in the limited-overs format by being included alongside Adam Zampa. Lyon was overlooked for the World T20.
The biggest surprise was the inclusion of Travis Head in place of Shaun Marsh, who was not considered because of paternity leave.  Australia begin the series in Guyana on June 6 with a game against South Africa.
