New Zealand appoint Shane Jurgensen as bowling coach

Australian Shane Jurgensen is all set to be back with the New Zealand team as bowling coach. He was involved earlier as bowling coach with the Kiwis between 2008 and 2010 and was also a coach of New Zealand Cricket's high performance programme.

Cricket New Zealand announced on Wednesday that Fiji coach Jurgensen has agreed to work with the Black Caps bowlers during the upcoming World Twenty20 - which starts next month - as well as the tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa.

He will take over the position from Dimitri Mascarenhas at the end of the New Zealands summer.

I've worked with a lot of the guys within the set up before and the way they've developed over the years has been exciting to watch.

said Jurgensen.

"Their results and rankings speak for themselves and I can't wait to work with them and help them to continue to improve.

"I’ll be looking to come in, do my job and support the successful environment that Mike [Hesson], Brendon [McCullum] and the rest of the team have built over the last couple of years.

"The way the team go about their business and style of cricket they play makes them an extremely appealing group to be a part of."
