Fast bowler Duanne Olivier has been released from the South African Test squad ahead of the 3rd Test against New Zealand.
Before the 2nd Test, Chris Morris was released from the squad and now Duanne Oliver becomes the 2nd seamer to head back to South Africa.
The reason behind South Africa’s move is due to the pitches being more spin-friendly in New Zealand.
South Africa had taken 6 seamers on their tour but after experiencing the spin-friendly wicket in the 1st Test, they decided to call up an extra spinner to the squad.
South Africa currently lead the 3-match Test series 1-0, with the 1st Test being drawn and the 2nd being won easily by South Africa.
