The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urged Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who is expected to step down after the upcoming Australia tour, to continue leading the national side until at least 2018.
PCB chairman Shahryar Khan said,
“
Because of his excellent fitness, Misbah can easily play international cricket for a few more years.
”
The ODI skipper Azhar Ali and T20 skipper Sarfraz Ahmed are among the top choices for the Misbah’s position according to the chairman.
Former captain of Pakistan Salman Butt and fast bowler Mohammad Asif could be selected in the Pakistan team after taking part in first-class matches.
