"Can't shy away from the fact that we are playing some good cricket"- Dhoni

Post Match Comments

Dhoni: 'It has been good. Definitely we can't shy away from the fact that we are playing some good cricket. But also at the same time, not to forget, maybe a month back, we were struggling when it came to the ODI format also. I think a lot of credit needs to go to the bowlers and the support staff, but at the same time I think individually everyone had to lift himself up.

The good thing in this tournament so far is if you see, there are not many players from our side who are in the top run-scorers list, but still we have scored runs. So I am happy with overall how we are performing. That (bowling opponents out) was an area we wanted to improve, that was a bit of a concern for us. I think in this tournament so far, the bowlers have done the job well.

Even the last time when we were in South Africa or New Zealand, that was one area where we were struggling. The good thing is even if we don't get wickets with the new ball - that has happened only in a couple of games (Manjrekar interrupted him before he could complete the sentence).

It's difficult. You can't just pinpoint and say this is what has really changed (in the bowling). You see batsmen who have not scored runs and in 15 minutes time, they are in the best of form. So in cricket there are a lot of abstracts, but you have to keep doing the small things and keep putting the intensity into the net sessions and everything shapes up.

Well, fluke happens (talking about the catch he took to dismiss Soumya Sarkar)! I think it was an important catch. It was a decent partnership going at that point and they were scoring at a good pace. So it was important for us to take that wicket.

I thought it was a bit away from me and I just dived and the ball came and sat into my hands more than anything else. It feels good when you take a brilliant catch, slightly different from a normal catch that you take as a wicket-keeper. I think a lot of it is because of how cricket is played (when asked what do you think is the reason for teams easily getting to 300).

With the 5th fielder being inside, with the T20 coming in, the approach of the batsmen have changed. Especially when you have wickets in hand, what we have seen is, in the last few overs they can score a lot of runs.

If luck is on your side and maybe if the wicket is slightly on the drier side, you may get a bit of reverse swing and it may hold on a bit. But, if there's nothing, more often than not on good wickets, you will see big runs. What really matters is, if you are able to take regular wickets in the middle overs, if not then 300 is something the opposition will definitely score.'

Mortaza: 'It could have been (when asked if toss was crucial). We would have liked to bat first as well, but can't explain. Rubel (Hossain) was bowling really well and also Shakib (Al Hasan). They had a good partnership, but we couldn't go through. 300 is always a difficult ask to chase, 280 could have been much better for the batters.

I think, except today, they should be happy (on how the supporters should judge Bangladesh's performance in the World Cup). Because most of our players have played just two or three ODIs. They are starting their careers.

I think the boys should be very happy with their effort. Everyone back home should be happy as well. Lot of cricket coming on, so hopefully we will carry on from here. The way we are performing at the moment, we don't have enough experience to play in these sort of conditions.

But the way we played, once we go back home, we know how we have to play there. So hopefully, this year will be very exciting for us. Thanks to all the supporters. They came in and supported us throughout the tournament, so thank you.'

Man of the match

Rohit: 'I think it (the knock) will be right up, because it came at an important situation when the team needed the most. I was determined, I wanted to bat as long as possible to put the team into a good situation and then bowlers did a fantastic job as they were doing in the league stages.

Batting at the top of the order, it's always important to get big hundreds. I've been given that role to bat up the order, so I wanted to make the most out of it whenever I go in to bat. I tried to do that today and I am happy with the way we performed as a team today.

Bowlers are taking wickets, batsmen are scoring runs, we just need to carry this momentum into the semis now. We have spoken a lot about how momentum plays a huge role in winning tournaments. I hope this is one-off and we have two more games to go now, hopefully we can carry the same momentum with us as we did today. We just need to do what we've been doing.

We are doing the right things on the field. When it comes to batting, we are creating big partnerships and bowlers are bowling well in tandem and taking wickets, which is very important in any format.'
