Or maybe they’re just stutters at the start. Both the weekend matches that began the Champions trophy in earnest were disappointing in their one-sidedness. Both West Indies and England who disappointed by collapsing against Sri Lanka and India respectively are still capable of far more, even with all the limitations in their current teams. With a bit of luck, we shall probably see them troubling the more fancied teams and upsetting someone’s applecart at some point (hopefully Australia, for one).
