Welcome back.. Zimbabwe have not won an ODI series since 2013. Last time was versus Bangladesh when they won 2-1. This is their best chance? Can they pull one over the World Cup runner's up? The openers stride out to the centre. Ben Wheeler to start proceedings. Just one slip in place. All set to go...
Cremer: "I am happy with my bowling. The wicket assisted the spinners more than what we thought. We knew spin was always going to play a big part and that's why we played an extra spinner. I think this is a par score and we can chase it down."
The spinners were brilliant. With the pitch offering bit of assistance, the trio of Cremer, Nyumbu and Williams shared the wickets to fall. Zimbabwe need 274 to win the series. Join us back in a few minutes to find out if they can haul this total down.
Chigumbura expected his fast bowlers to do the job in the first hour. However, it was the spinners who delivered. Guptill and Latham got the visitors off to a steady start, but the introduction of spin brought about the downfall of Latham. Guptill and Williamson added a 50-plus stand before the former was snaffled by Cremer. Munro didn't last long and it was left to Elliott to support his skipper. The duo added 70 runs, but fell in succession. Some late striking from Neesham and Nathan McCullum took the total past the 270-mark.

John Nyumbu to Williamson, out Caught by C Ervine!! Oh that is a brilliant catch by Craig Ervine. Has he stepped beyond the rope? No he hasn't! Expertly done. Clever bowling from Nyumbu as he dragged the length back on seeing Williamson advance, the batsman couldn't get to the pitch of the ball, yet he went through with the loft, didn't hit it that well, long-on ran to his left, caught it just before the rope. He realised that the momentum was taking him beyond the boundary and released the ball before he could cross, quickly recovered and timed his jump to perfection to grab it again in time. It needed some brilliance to dismiss Williamson and Ervine was spectacular indeed. Williamson c C Ervine b John Nyumbu 90(109) [4s-8 6s-1]

Williamson: "The wicket was tough, they (Zimbabwe) put us in and to get that total on the board was a good effort. Zimbabwe began well with the bat. We were under pressure a bit, but the boys responded well and it feels good to win the series. It was a tough series for us. The thing that pleased me was the way we learnt from our mistakes. The conditions in South Africa might assist the pacers and we are looking forward to that series."
Kane Williamson is the Man of the Match and Man of the Series
Chigumbura: "I thought the guys played well up front, but obviously we didn't bat well as the innings progressed. It was a chasable score and we need to learn from our mistakes. Pakistan are coming in a few weeks time, we need to work on a few areas and come ready for the next ODI."
At 97/0, Zimbabwe would have had high hopes of bagging a rare series win, but the wickets of Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza and Elton Chigumbura in quick succession hurt them badly. Craig Ervine and Sean Williams were involved in a brisk stand but the former ran himself out. Soon Sikandar Raza gifted his wicket away and with Regis Chakabva too following him shortly, Zimbabwe looked down and out. However, Graeme Cremer gave decent support to Williams, who was fighting hard. The left-hander also recorded a fifty but once that partnership was broken, New Zealand managed to pick wickets at regular intervals and eventually sealed the match with 14 balls to spare. Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Ish Sodhi bagged two.
Happy faces in the New Zealand camp and why not! This is their 4th series win out of their last five bilateral series. As the players shake hands, we have a pitch invader, who picks up a stump and runs away.
