Hafeez and Azhar Ali for the second time in the series added a 100+ opening stand. They started off in a positive manner and continued scoring freely. The skipper looked well set for another big score before his knock was cut short by a run-out. Hafeez accelerated after scoring his fifty, but threw it away when he was on 80. After that Pakistan lost a few quick wickets, Babar Azam and Sarfraz then stitched a crucial partnership. The former on his debut, recorded his maiden fifty. Anwar Ali hit a few lusty blows to take the total close to the 300 mark.
