Tea, Day 2: Pakistan grow from strength to strength. They've had another excellent session in which they've scored 129 runs. Azhar Ali continued his good work and recorded his maiden Test double-hundred, while Asad Shafiq scored a well compiled hundred. Pakistan lost a few quick wickets towards the end of the session as they were looking to accelerate. It looks like they want to add a few quick runs and further increase their total. There is a bit of cloud cover and Bangladesh's reply is going to be very interesting. Join us back in a short while for the final session.

Lunch would have tasted much better for the hosts, but Shahid overstepped the line when Soumya Sarkar caught Azhar Ali's outside edge at third slip. Ali used the opportunity and went on to share a mammoth 250-run stand with Younis Khan, who upped the ante in the second session. Both batsmen completed hundreds and forced Bangladesh to use as many as nine bowlers. Soon after the second new ball was taken, Younis Khan, who was also caught off a no-ball before reaching his hundred, cut a Shahid delivery straight to the fielder.

Stumps, Day 1: Not the kind of day for Bangladesh, who opted to bowl first expecting their bowlers to get some early wickets with a bit of grass on the surface. In fact, they got off to a disastrous start as Shahadat Hossain walked off the field with a knee injury. Although Mohammad Shahid removed Mohammad Hafeez very early, Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali steadied the visitors with a 49-run stand before the former gifted his wicket minutes before the lunch break.

Sami Aslam battled hard and just when he was looking to build a partnership with Ali, he gifted his wicket to Taijul Islam. The good news for Bangladesh is that Shahadat is back on the field and will be able to bowl in the second session.

Lunch, Day 1: Bangladesh would be reasonably happy with their show, but they would have wanted more wickets, especially after opting to bowl first. They got off to a disastrous start though as opening bowler Shahdat Hossain walked off the field after injuring his knee in the very first over. Pakistan continued the good work and bowled well early in the morning. Wahab Riaz bowled with a lot of gas and removed Soumya Sarkar early. He dismissed Shuvagata Hom next ball, but could not get a hat-trick as he bowled one down the leg-side. Taijul Islam played an ugly shot to be bowled by Mohammad Hafeez, but Shakib Al Hasan farmed the strike, scored at will and registered a fine fifty. Pakistan looked frustrated as Mohammad Shahid gave good company to Shakib. In fact, 62 runs of the 63-run stand for the 9th wicket were scored by Shakib. Eventually, Yasir Shah dismissed the former to end the innings.

Shahadat Hossain, who injured his knee on Day 1, will not come out to bat and that is the end of Bangladesh's first innings. Will Pakistan enforce the follow-on? No, they haven't. Pakistan will bat again.

Junaid Khan then removed Tamim Iqbal in the first over, but Imrul Kayes played a counter-attacking knock to transfer the pressure back on the Pakistani bowlers. After a while, Junaid accounted for Mominul Haque, before Yasir Shah castled Kayes in his very first over.
