Earlier, Chibhabha's useful fifty helped the hosts to post a competitive total on the board. Axar Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were good with the ball and were rewarded with wickets. After losing all three ODIs and the first T20I, the hosts have a lot to cheer about with the way they played in this game. As far as the visitors are concerned, they put up a disappointing show with the bat.

Zimbabwe's spinners gave a good account of themselves as they pulled off an upset. It got tight in the end, but the hosts just about held their nerve to win. It was Mpofu, who bowled a fine last over. With this victory, Zimbabwe levelled the two-match T20I series 1-1. This was also their first victory against India in T20Is. Graeme Cremer was the pick of the bowlers with three scalps to his name. He was also economical. Prosper Utseya and Sean Williams too bowled well. For the visitors, Uthappa and Binny played handy knocks.
