Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

The formidable opening pair of Dhawan and Warner are in the middle. Yusuf Pathan will open the proceedings. He has a lone slip in place

KOL have got the runs on the board and with the track expected to give the spinners encouragement later on in the game, the home team would be pleased with their effort. Now, they need to bowl with unremitting control to keep the lid on the scoring rate. On the other hand, one expects Warner to come out all guns blazing. Interestingly, his partner, Dhawan, known for checking in a series of shots, has generally played with a touch of calm countenance and equanimity in this T20 League

HYD have done well to restrict KOL to 171 - thanks to some brilliant death bowling in the end. Uthappa displayed a compendium of superb shots and gave the hosts a rousing start but threw his wicket cheaply to Sran. Gambhir and Munro followed soon. Kolkata were struggling at 57/3 and it was left to Manish and Yusuf to resurrect their fortunes. The duo played with a calm head on their shoulders and strung together a 87-run partnership as KOL made a smart recovery. Yusuf cracked a fine fifty. However, once Manish perished, the visitors were able to curtail the run flow and pulled things back towards the end. The wicket is slow and is assisting the spinners. Remember, this is a crucial game for Kolkata, as a win will take them through to the play-offs. Join us back in a short while for the run chase....

"We could have bowled better with the new ball. After the first over, we got to know the wicket was slow. We knew we have qualified, but we know if we win, we will finish in the top-two. It is a slow wicket and we bowled lot of slower ones. We have to adapt to chase this down. I have tried to get the basics right and I have worked on my yorkers," says the Purple Cap holder, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Suryakumar Yadav 6(3) Y Pathan 52(34) Bhuvneshwar 4-0-31-2

19.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar Yadav, 2 runs, this is an excellent recovery from Hyderabad. After 15 overs, Kolkata were 141 for 3 with Pandey and Pathan well set. Just 30 runs off the final five overs. Another slower bumper, Yadav walks across and helps it just wide of Ojha, who dived but failed to get anything on that. Third man runs across and tidies up

19.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar Yadav, no run, Bhuvi responds with a slower ball bouncer, Yadav was looking to pull, but bails out of the shot. Another dot in the death overs..

19.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR, superb hit from Yadav. Leg-cutter on the stumps, he moves away to the leg-side, knows that the field is up on the off-side, just chips it over the infield and collects a much needed boundary

19.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Y Pathan, 1 run, slower delivery dragged back, Pathan waits and pulls it to deep square leg, can only get it as far as deep square leg

19.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Y Pathan, no run, yorker outside off, Pathan can't lay bat on that. Kolkata may not even reach 170 with the way Hyderabad are bowling

Suryakumar Yadav, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Shakib, out Caught by N Ojha!! Kolkata have certainly lost their way. Runs are not coming and they are losing wickets as well. Off-cutter bowled well wide of off, Shakib had to fetch that and all he could do was top-edge it straight up. Ojha called for and took it with utmost ease. Shakib c N Ojha b Bhuvneshwar 7(10)

Y Pathan 51(32) Shakib 7(9) Mustafizur 4-0-32-1

18.6 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, no run, brilliant over. Just the 3 runs off it. Mustafizur after giving 20 in his first two overs, ends with 1 for 32 in his four. An off-cutter which grips and eludes Pathan's swipe across the line

18.5 - Mustafizur to Shakib, 1 run, 141kph yorker speared at the base of leg-stump, Shakib just about manages to bring his bat down and jam it to backward point. Not much any batsman can do about that

18.4 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 1 run, low full toss on off, Pathan backs away and hammers it to long-off, again only a single

18.3 - Mustafizur to Shakib, 1 run, Shakib decides enough of hanging in the crease, shimmies down and Mustafizur is up for it as well, shortens the length and doesn't give any room to free his arms, pulled to deep square leg

18.2 - Mustafizur to Shakib, no run, now pulls the length back. Is keeping his countryman guessing. Shakib kneels down to sweep it across the line, missed it by a long distance. Two dots to start the over..

18.1 - Mustafizur to Shakib, no run, top yorker! Right in the blockhole, only thing wrong was it was not on target, just outside off and Shakib fails to dig it out

Over: 18 1 1 1 1 1 1 KOL 161/5
Shakib 5(5) Y Pathan 50(30) Barinder 4-0-31-1

17.6 - Barinder to Shakib, 1 run, six singles in the over and Hyderabad have pulled it back since the time-out. Once again no pace offered, Shakib can only mistime his heave to long-on. Sran finishes with: 4-0-31-1

17.5 - Barinder to Y Pathan, 1 run, fifty for Pathan. A fine season for him. The most runs he has scored for KOL in a single season. Meanwhile, Unadkat walks out with a bat for Shakib. Fullish and on the stumps, driven down to long-on

17.4 - Barinder to Shakib, 1 run, Hyderabad won't mind the singles. Off-speed delivery outside off, Shakib fetches it from there and swipes it across the line, close to deep mid-wicket to tidy up

17.3 - Barinder to Y Pathan, 1 run, shortish and right at the batsman, Pathan is cramped for room, gets the short-arm pull away to deep square leg

17.2 - Barinder to Shakib, 1 run, fullish and outside off, Shakib lofts it towards long-off, goes on the bounce to Hooda, who fumbles but the batsmen don't risk the second

17.1 - Barinder to Y Pathan, 1 run, slower delivery and Pathan is made to check his loft, chips it wide of the bowler and down to long-off. Wanted two but is rightly sent back by Shakib

Barinder Sran [3.0-0-25-1] is back into the attack

Over: 17 4 1 2 W 2 0 KOL 155/5
Shakib 2(2) Y Pathan 47(27) Mustafizur 3-0-29-1

16.6 - Mustafizur to Shakib, no run, stifled appeal for LBW and caught behind from Ojha. Erasmus just walks away. Slanted across the left-hander, Shakib misses the nudge to the on-side. Ball brushes the pad on the way to Ojha. The impact was outside off and there was no inside edge, hence no interest shown by the umpire

16.5 - Mustafizur to Shakib, 2 runs, round the wicket and targeting the stumps, Shakib nurdles it behind square leg, wide of short fine and he is off the mark with a brace

Shakib Al Hasan, left handed bat, comes to the crease

16.4 - Mustafizur to Holder, out Caught by Henriques!! A lucky wicket for Mustafizur. A full toss on off, Holder was probably not expecting that, goes for the drive over cover, gets it high on the bat and ends up popping it to Henriques at head height. He hung around and just delayed the inevitable. Holder is a tall man and to get it above his waist, should be a real effort for any bowler. Holder c Henriques b Mustafizur 3(3)

Mustafizur to Holder, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Holder has been caught, but he is hanging in there. The umpires are checking for a waist high no-ball. The front foot is fine. Well below the waist, Holder will get his marching orders. There it comes!

16.3 - Mustafizur to Holder, 2 runs, off-cutter on the stumps, Holder makes room and lifts it over extra cover. For a second I thought it was heading the distance, but drops wide of sweeper and the batsmen take couple

16.2 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 1 run, low full toss just outside off, Pathan eases the drive to long-off

16.1 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, FOUR, "catch" shouted Mustafizur, but it was well wide of square leg. Shortish and on off, Pathan shuffles across and pulls it wide of Yuvi, no chance for deep mid-wicket to cut that off. Good start to the over..

Mustafizur Rahman [2.0-0-20-0] is back into the attack

Over: 16 1 1 1 W 1 1 KOL 146/4
Y Pathan 42(25) Holder 1(1) Bhuvneshwar 3-0-24-1

15.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Y Pathan, 1 run, slower delivery on middle and leg, Pathan helps it along the way to deep backward square leg. Just the 5 runs and the wicket of Pandey, the over Hyderabad needed and Bhuvneshwar has delivered..

15.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Holder, 1 run, back of a length on off, Holder presents the full face and taps it to long-off

Jason Holder, right handed bat, comes to the crease

15.4 - Bhuvneshwar to M Pandey, out Caught by Williamson!! There's the wicket Hyderabad wanted. Pandey is disappointed, lets out a roar and looks at the base of his bat. Low full toss outside off, Pandey had already made room, had to reach out and all he could do is slice it towards backward point. Williamson takes another good catch, dived to his right and managed to hold on even though he went to ground. M Pandey c Williamson b Bhuvneshwar 48(30) [4s-2 6s-3]

Bhuvneshwar to M Pandey, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

15.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Y Pathan, 1 run, shortish and Pathan pulls it off the front foot to deep square leg, just a single

15.2 - Bhuvneshwar to M Pandey, 1 run, low full toss zeroed in on the stumps, worked away to long-on

15.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Y Pathan, 1 run, too full and almost a yorker length delivery around off, Pathan squeezes the drive out to long-off

Bhuvneshwar Kumar [2.0-0-19-0] is back into the attack

Erasmus signals the time-out. One which Hyderabad desperately needed. The partnership is worth 84 runs and they are going at more than 9rpo. At this rate, Kolkata might fancy 200 or more. Warner has to find a way to stop this carnage... Bhuvi brought back to break this partnership. Plenty of hand waving from the bowler and the captain...

M Pandey 47(28) Y Pathan 39(22) Barinder 3-0-25-1

14.6 - Barinder to M Pandey, no run, slanted well wide of the right-hander, Pandey tries to reach out, but fails to do so. Sran gets away with it as it was a marginal call for a wide

14.5 - Barinder to M Pandey, SIX, there's the six for the over. Pandey was waiting for this in his crease. Sran made his job easier by bowling length, Pandey said thank you very much and smashed it over long-on, pinged the sightscreen

14.4 - Barinder to Y Pathan, 1 run, off-pace delivery on a shortish length, Pathan mistimes the flat-bat hit to the left of Sran, who couldn't get a hand

14.3 - Barinder to M Pandey, 1 run, steps out and converts it into a fuller length delivery, whipped down the ground to deep mid-wicket

14.2 - Barinder to Y Pathan, 1 run, low full toss just outside off, drilled along the ground to long-off

14.2 - Barinder to Y Pathan, wide, that's a shocker from Sran. It pitched well outside the playing surface outside off, easy call for the umpire

14.1 - Barinder to M Pandey, 1 run, slower delivery around off, Pandey waits and steers it down to third man

Barinder Sran [2.0-0-14-1] is back into the attack

Warner and Henriques are having a chat, while Bhuvi is giving some tips to the returning Sran. Kolkata have gathered momentum, Hyderabad need a wicket or two to stop the run-flow.

Y Pathan 37(20) M Pandey 39(24) Karn Sharma 3-0-39-0

13.6 - Karn Sharma to Y Pathan, 2 runs, excellent cricket. Those two sixes had sent the fielders on the edge of the rope and Pathan nudges one with soft hands to the mid-wicket region and scampers back for the second. Pandey had to put in the dive as the throw came to his end, but he had made it in comfortably

13.5 - Karn Sharma to Y Pathan, SIX, Karn keeps tossing them up and Pathan keeps sending them out of the park. This time creates his own room by backing away and hammers it over long-off. The crowd are finding their voice again

13.4 - Karn Sharma to Y Pathan, SIX, first six for Pathan. And as usual it comes over long-on. Went a long way as well - 102 meters. Flighted on the stumps, Pathan dispatches it with utter disdain over long-on

13.3 - Karn Sharma to Y Pathan, no run, follows Pathan with a full delivery, eased to extra cover

13.2 - Karn Sharma to M Pandey, 1 run, short and outside off, slapped towards extra cover

13.1 - Karn Sharma to M Pandey, FOUR, Pandey has taken a particular liking to Karn Sharma. Once again starts the over with a boundary. Tossed up on off, Pandey clears his front leg out of the way and tonks it towards long-on, straight enough for a one bounce four

M Pandey 34(22) Y Pathan 23(16) Mustafizur 2-0-20-0

12.6 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 1 run, good length ball on off, Pandey is on the move to nudge this one to deep mid-wicket

12.6 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, wide, starts outside off and the off-cutter goes further away from the batsman, Pandey can't reach and umpire Marais Erasmus stretches his arms out

12.5 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 1 run, another one on a length and straightens a touch, Pathan's outside edge rolls straight to third man this time

12.4 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, FOUR, lucky boundary. Mustafizur goes round the wicket and angles the off-cutter in, the ball grips and deviates enough to catch the outside edge as Pathan pokes at it, goes fine and races to the third man fence

12.3 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 2 runs, in the air and safe. Pathan is standing on off-stump and is even shuffling across to Mustafizur, he tries the inside out loft, but only manages a toe-end. The ball drops between two fielders, extra cover tracked back and sweeper cover ran forward, but the ball eluded both

12.2 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 1 run, cramps the batsman for room this time, much like it. Pandey adjusts and works it in front of square on the leg-side

12.1 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, FOUR, top shot! Poor delivery though from Fizz. Short and plenty of room on offer, Pandey, who already stands on leg-stump made full use of that, cracked the cut to the left of backward point, sped away to the fence

Over: 12 1 1 2 1 0 1 KOL 97/3
M Pandey 28(19) Y Pathan 16(13) Henriques 2-0-14-0

11.6 - Henriques to M Pandey, 1 run, sliding it onto the pads, Pandey helps it round the corner - to deep backward square leg. He wanted two but Pathan was never interested

11.5 - Henriques to M Pandey, no run, another off-cutter outside off, Pandey was almost walking into the nudge to the on-side, the ball breaks back and beats the inside edge

11.4 - Henriques to Y Pathan, 1 run, shortish and outside off, Pathan slaps it without much purpose to sweeper cover

11.3 - Henriques to Y Pathan, 2 runs, no pace on this one, Pathan once again is foxed as he attempts an ambitious drive, gets it off the inner part of the bat to mid-wicket, no one inside the ring and an easy two on offer

11.2 - Henriques to M Pandey, 1 run, drags the length back, Pandey stays leg-side of the ball and whips it to long-on

11.1 - Henriques to Y Pathan, 1 run, fuller and outside off, Pathan walks down and across, tries to force it through cover, the ball squirts off the inside edge to backward square leg

Y Pathan 12(10) M Pandey 26(16) Mustafizur 1-0-6-0

10.6 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 1 run, uppish but in the gap. The quick off-cutter outside off, Pathan is into the drive early, slices it to the right of backward point

10.5 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, no run, round the wicket to tuck the batsman up, Pathan hangs back and taps it to backward point

10.4 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 1 run, Pandey is playing him very late. He is allowing the ball to do its bit and then picking which shot to play, this time he whips one through mid-wicket

10.3 - Mustafizur to Y Pathan, 1 run, again the length is short, Pathan has enough time to pick his spot, cuts it gently to sweeper cover

10.2 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 1 run, shortens the length and Pandey pulls it on the bounce to deep mid-wicket

10.1 - Mustafizur to M Pandey, 2 runs, angled across the right-hander, Pandey waits on it and eases it square on the off-side, placed it wide of sweeper and that made him go back for the second. Dhawan sends in an accurate throw, but a full length dive saved Pandey

Run-out check sent upstairs. Pandey the man in question. The dive saves him there. Should be an easy call for the TV umpire. Not Out!

7.3 - Deepak Hooda to Gambhir, out Caught by Henriques!! I am rubbing my eyes in disbelief. KOL's batsmen, one after another, are losing the plot and gifting their wickets away on a platter. 1.5 - Barinder to Uthappa, no run, slightly shorter in length, Uthappa can't make the connection with his short-arm pull

1.4 - Barinder to Uthappa, 2 runs, Uthappa just stays back to this back of a length delivery and checks the late cut to third man, where Karn Sharma runs around the boundary rope and puts in a dive to save a couple

1.3 - Barinder to Uthappa, 2 runs, speared down leg, Uthappa rolls his wrists on it and clips it to backward square leg for a brace

1.2 - Barinder to Uthappa, no run, Barinder ushers in the short delivery and bowls it outside off, Uthappa lets it go by

1.1 - Barinder to Uthappa, FOUR, Uthappa's sparkling spread of run-scoring continues. Barinder angles it away from the right-hander, Uthappa rides on the bounce and slices the drive past the backward point fielder. No need to run for those

0.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, 1 run, good length delivery and a wee bit of shape back into the right-hander, Uthappa gets a soft leading edge to mid-on on his tuck

0.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, FOUR, Bhuvneshwar again bowls it short and wide, Uthappa camps back and late cuts it to the third man fence. The fielder was inside the ring and Uthappa breached the gap between short third man and backward point to perfection

0.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, no run, nice riposte from Bhuvneshwar. Good length delivery that curls away a touch, Uthappa prods half forward and has a flirty poke at it, only to be beaten

As a result of those 2 strokes, the slip has been taken off

0.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, FOUR, Uthappa again gets on top of the bounce. In fact, a splendid stroke from him. A tad fuller and outside off, Uthappa brings out the punchy-drive and it vrooms away to the deep extra cover fence

0.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, FOUR, crunching shot from Uthappa! A touch of width on offer, Uthappa prod half forward and cracks it through the diving cover-point fielder and into the fence

0.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Uthappa, no run, back of a length delivery and a hint of shape away from Uthappa, he comes half forward and defends awkwardly

Uthappa and Gambhir are at the crease. Uthappa is on strike. Bhuvneshwar will open the attack

Let's take a moment and thank the teams for their fizzled out campaigns this year - gifted us an T20 League as open as an angry can of pop soda.. fizzing and entertaining all of us. Kolkata make it through, finally, battling past Russell's injury, a late suicidal implosion and then a Dhawan half-century. Yusuf Pathan continues to prosper as an anchor and things look headed North for Kolkata. That's it from here, Hop over to catch Kohli take on Zaheer. Good bye from Pratyush Sinha on behalf of Bharath Ramaraj, Akshay Maanay and Venkatesh, our scorer. Ta-ta!

Pathan: "Very happy that the team has been helped by my performance. We talked that 160 was a good total on this wicket because we have quality spinners. Manish batted well, took chances and made a good feast of them. I got the time to stay at the wicket, wait for the loose delivery and hit them. I look in control this season. Feel calm, given the overs I have been getting. Enjoying my bowling too, and whenever there's an opportunity, I try to do well." (translated from Hindi)

Yusuf Pathan is the Man of the Match. He's harvesting them, isn't he?

Gambhir: "Must-win game for us. Credit to the entire group. Yusuf's form is important and he's not flirting with it. His role has changed, but now we give him more overs. He's mature and takes his time. When we started, 160 looked good and we looked set for 180-185. But we were happy with 170 too, given the pitch here. The point is to stay in the present and be up for it. We have to take a lot of confidence from this match which was almost a playoff. When you lose a player like Russell, it's difficult to get the combination right but guys have put their hand up and performed well today."

Okay, the presentations are here! Hold on.. as Ravi Shastri throats it out

With this win KOL make it to the qualifiers. GUJ are comfortably placed at number 1 but numbers 2, 3 and 4 are still up for grabs. The picture will be absolutely clear after the end of the second match today with 3 teams sure to be tied at 16 points unless there is rain. So folks, its time to take out the notebooks and get down to some number crunching to calculate the net run rates!

With Yuvraj and Williamson still there, HYD would have fancied their chances of chasing it down even if it was at 10 runs per over off 8. But the spinners were not giving an inch away as a googly here, a doosra there was making the experienced batters dance to their tunes. Yuvraj did hit a few big blows but Shakib got him out as he hit one too many. That really got the crowd behind KOL and they didn't look behind from that point as they virtually strangled the HYD chase.

The pitch had slowed down considerably and Gautam Gambhir was alive to the fact as he started with an eclectic mix of slow bowlers up front. Narine got the big wicket of Warner in the third over. But Dhawan was looking well set and threatened to knock KOL out of the tourney. Gautam Gambhir definitely needed his spinners to stand up and take responsibility. The youngster Kuldeep Yadav did the trick for him as he got Dhawan caught in the deep. In the very next over Narine came back into the attack and dismissed Ojha who was going nowhere frankly.

19.6 - Rajpoot to Karn Sharma, 1 run, there it is. KOL, Eden Gardens and 4.5 million Kolkatans dash into the playoffs! And millions of SRK supporters too. And Bengali clans all across the globe. Rajpoot does what he has been doing - going wide of the crease, firing it on a length that's just short enough to invite a loft and not leaking silly runs. Down to long-on on the bounce, where the fielder arches back to hold onto the ricochet. Deal sealed. This pitch was there for Kolkata to come out trumps and boy, they did well to tame that late batting implosion

19.5 - Rajpoot to Barinder, 1 run, goes wide of the crease from round the wicket, fires it in fuller and Sran clips it round the corner

19.4 - Rajpoot to Karn Sharma, 1 run, what should I call it? A Yoda full toss. Not very tall and Sharma squirts it down to third man for a single..

19.3 - Rajpoot to Barinder, 1 run, gravitates this full toss on off-stump, Sran's bat comes down at an angle..only to mistime it to long-on. Match sealed, no?

19.2 - Rajpoot to Karn Sharma, 1 run, a full toss, a dipping full toss and Sharma throws his hands at it. Skews it away to deep backward point on the bounce. Singles won't do

19.1 - Rajpoot to Bhuvneshwar, out Caught by (sub)Sathish!! This looks like a mere formality now. 18.5 - Holder to Bhuvneshwar, FOUR, makes his own room and uses a big bat swing to loft this fuller one over extra cover. 29 off 7 needed

18.4 - Holder to Bhuvneshwar, no run, lovely yorker outside off, Kumar is half-forward to squeeze out the drive, there's a noise but the umpire ignores the appeal. The bat hitting the ground it might be - since the drive was a squeeze given the very full length

18.3 - Holder to Karn Sharma, leg byes, 1 run, too much theatrics for a leg bye. Bowls a cutter bumper, Sharma is early into the pull. Is hit on the grille and the ricochet nearly rolls onto the stumps. Sees the ball dead in front of the stumps and beats Holder's sprint forward with a superlative sprint for the leg bye

18.2 - Holder to Karn Sharma, 2 runs, bowls it slow on the pad and it's a nudge to backward square leg

Narine to Henriques, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

17.5 - Narine to Karn Sharma, 1 run, oh, that's too good from Narine. Runs across all the way to mid-on, gathers this clip from Sharma and fires it at the bowler's end. Misses but why was Sharma taking it so lightly? Why? Jogs and then hurries back in

17.4 - Narine to Henriques, 1 run, straight delivery worked to mid-wicket

17.3 - Narine to Henriques, FOUR, that's streetsmart cricket. Is late to read it and then dabs it ever so late, off the keeper's gloved all the way to third man. A head-first dive there is inconsequential

17.2 - Narine to Karn Sharma, 1 run, darts it on leg-stump and then gets it to dart away. Sharma waits and clips it to short mid-wicket

16.5 - Shakib to Henriques, 1 run, loops it in flatter and slower on the pads, helped to cow corner with a clip

15.2 - Kuldeep Yadav to Williamson, 1 run, floats this flatter one across, Williamson reaches out to clip it to a vacant mid-wicket and ran. Yadav ran across, pounced on the ball and shied at the bowler's end. Overthrows and a run ensued

Had cleaved the gap between deep square leg and deep mid-wicket perfectly, thought there's a two on and just sped back to his crease. Williamson wasn't interested, maybe didn't hear the call. Maybe there wasn't a call. Shakib ran across from deep mid-wicket, speared the throw to the bowler's end and ran Hooda out, who was halfway down the track.
