Out come the teams! Warner's squatting at the crease while Dhawan is walking across at the non-striker's end, looking quite relaxed. PK to test Delhi's air and the pitch with this new ball. Also has a slip in place for Warner

Welcome back. The innings to decide BLR's match-up for 29th May begins now. 162 is a good score and this Delhi ground hasn't been quite benevolent to teams batting second - it's the only venue in this T20 League season where teams batting first have won more matches (four) than teams chasing (two). So that makes for a good contest - the T20 League's chasing charm up against a stubborn ground. Dhawan and Warner key.. (need I say that?)

"It's similar to what happened the other night. The first six overs are crucial for us. It was a bit of a surprise (ED opening the batting). But maybe they studied what happened the other night, wickets in hand are crucial. Unfortunate that Fizz caught up his hammie, I found it about an hour prior to the game and got my head around it. I love my fielding, it's basically about getting the ball in the hand and throwing it anywhere near the stumps (his run-out of Karthik)," says a grinning Trent Boult.

Mustafizur's injury can wreck a side, but Hyderabad showed good resilience; good enough for it stretch out all the way to Finch's dropped catch which was compensated by quick wickets of McCullum and Smith, but a resilience not long enough for the death choke. A fueled Finch's fifty though caned HYD to inject a contest into this knockout. To begin, Dwivedi's experimental duties as an opener had lasted five balls and so did Raina's stint at the crease. Two early wickets stunted the powerplay progress before it could begin, but McCullum and Karthik's 44-run stand recovered GUJ, somewhat, before Karthik's surrender to a run out. Then Sran erred with that Finch drop, kept erring with the line and length, and Bravo's late cameo was clipped by Bhuvi's impressive last over. Join us back, a finalist beckons!

Over: 20 4 1 1 0 1 GUJ 162/7
D Kulkarni 3(2) Jadeja 19(15) Bhuvneshwar 4-0-27-2

19.6 - Bhuvneshwar to D Kulkarni, no run, full length ball which fizzes off the deck and whistles past the outside edge through to the keeper. They don't even attempt a bye. So that's it, GUJ have elevated themselves to a position of respectability from being 83/5

19.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, 1 run, Jadeja's back leg is pivoted down leg, and this ball is wide of off. He gets his upper body in a tangle by leaning too far across and limply cuts it to cover

19.4 - Bhuvneshwar to D Kulkarni, 3 runs, low full toss whipped down the ground, and Bhuvi once again concedes an extra run as he fails to collect the throw. It wasn't a great throw either, as long-on fired it well wide of the stumps. HYD have been all helter-skelter recently, not knowing what's hit them

Dhawal Kulkarni, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwayne Bravo, out Bowled!! Pretty much similar to the Finch dismissal, only that this full toss didn't have much height on it. Bravo moved to leg, tried to slug it across the line but missed and deflected it onto the stumps off his pad. Good little cameo.. Dwayne Bravo b Bhuvneshwar 20(10) [4s-4]

Bhuvneshwar to Dwayne Bravo, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

19.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwayne Bravo, 2 runs, slower length ball, swiped to square leg. The throw is at the bowler's end where Bhuvi fumbles allowing a second

The crowd are getting into it now, chanting something which I can't comprehend

19.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwayne Bravo, wide, Bhuvi is anticipating Bravo to shuffle down leg, but he is going nowhere. Very wide, and a good take from Ojha

19.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, 1 run, very full and Jadeja drills it along the carpet to long-on

Bhuvneshwar Kumar [3.0-0-19-1] is back into the attack

15 off the over, and GUJ are already past 150. Quite remarkable how the momentum has changed. All because of one dropped catch, with Finch given a reprieve early in his innings.

Over: 19 0 0 0 GUJ 154/6
Dwayne Bravo 18(8) Jadeja 17(13) Boult 4-0-39-1

18.6 - Boult to Dwayne Bravo, no run, takes himself out of reach of a short and wide ball by backing away too far. Tries to lash out after it but misses

18.5 - Boult to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, these are very handy runs for GUJ. What would HYD give for Mustafiz, right now? Not that Boult could have done much with this. Low full toss outside off, the idea is right, but it runs away off a thick outside edge and scurries past short third man after beating a diving Ojha

18.4 - Boult to Jadeja, 1 run, drills a full ball down to long-on

18.4 - Boult to Jadeja, wide, back of the hand slower dipping full toss down leg, Jadeja can't get bat on ball with the glance

18.3 - Boult to Dwayne Bravo, 1 run, firmly punched to the right of Warner at long-off, any other fielder and there's a second. But this is Warner

18.2 - Boult to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, Boult tries the same dipping full toss which bamboozled Finch earlier, but Bravo isn't premeditating like his teammate. He watches it all the way, leans across and slices it through the point region

18.1 - Boult to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, a Bravo special! Look at the pose after the shot is complete - his spine arching back and hands protruding away from the body. Fraction full outside off, and he has crrrrunched the cover-drive

Trent Boult [3.0-0-24-1] is back into the attack

Over: 18 W GUJ 139/6
Dwayne Bravo 5(3) Jadeja 16(12) Ben Cutting 3-0-20-2

17.6 - Ben Cutting to Dwayne Bravo, 1 run, nails the yorker this time and Bravo can't do much more than jam it in front of cover

17.5 - Ben Cutting to Dwayne Bravo, no run, smell the leather! Pacy short ball and it's gunning for Bravo's helmet, he can only sway out of the way

17.4 - Ben Cutting to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, sticks to round the wicket for Bravo as well but bowls one straight at his pads which is tickled away fine. A gift to being the innings

Dwayne Bravo, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.3 - Ben Cutting to Finch, out Bowled!! Finch is startled by the height on this full toss, and the fact that it's following him down leg, he ushers in a slog - almost as an evasive action more than anything - but misses and the ball deflects off his pads onto the stumps. There might have been an inside edge involved. The umpires check for height but it's just FINE. Finch b Ben Cutting 50(32) [4s-7 6s-2]

Ben Cutting to Finch, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

17.2 - Ben Cutting to Finch, FOUR, yes, it's in line with the body and Finch can only feebly pull it towards fine leg. Should only be a single. Oh shocker! Sran is having a shocker in the field. And he was the one who dropped Finch earlier resulting in all this chaos. He runs to his left but doesn't bend enough letting it through

Round the wicket to cramp Finch..

17.1 - Ben Cutting to Jadeja, 1 run, Cutting drills one into the blockhole and contains Jadeja to a squeeze towards mid-off

Ben Cutting [2.0-0-10-1] is back into the attack

Jadeja 15(11) Finch 46(30) Bhuvneshwar 3-0-19-1

16.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, 1 run, flicks a low full toss to mid-wicket for a single

16.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, FOUR, now GUJ get the boundary, and this is more promising considering it's from Jadeja's willow. High time he came good with the bat, and has the stage too today. Length ball, he punches it masterfully down the ground to beat long-off

16.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Finch, 1 run, can't find the boundary. For once, Bhuvi missed his length and delivered a full ball but Finch couldn't find much elevation and punches it firmly down to long-on

16.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, 1 run, length ball aiming for the top of off to Jaddu - who is only playing second fiddle right now. Pats it in front of point for a single. For THE single

16.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Finch, 1 run, this is where Bhuvi has been so good. Low full toss, hard to get under, and Finch swats it off the inside half down to long-on

16.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Jadeja, 1 run, Jadeja is still hesitant at the crease and inside edges a back of a length delivery through square leg. Never mind, brings Finch back on strike

Bhuvneshwar Kumar [2.0-0-10-1] is back into the attack

Finch 44(28) Jadeja 8(7) Boult 3-0-24-1

15.6 - Boult to Finch, FOUR, now he has powered a drive straight down the ground, and beats long-off. Boult can't nail the yorker and is given the treatment. Finch is taking off!

15.5 - Boult to Finch, FOUR, poor ball! With third man in the ring, Boult has dropped it short and has enough width for Finch to upper-cut it to the fence

15.4 - Boult to Finch, no run, excellent adjustment from Boult. Finch is on his back knee shaping for a scoop and must have panicked after seeing a high full toss. But it's the back of the hand slower ball which dips late. Finch tries a makeshift ramp but can't connect

15.3 - Boult to Jadeja, 1 run, had to reach out as this half-volley was well outside off, skews it off the bottom of the bat down to long-off

15.2 - Boult to Finch, 1 run, full still, on the pads, Finch is happy to clip it through mid-wicket and settle for the single

15.1 - Boult to Jadeja, 1 run, very full and slanting into the pads, flicked to deep mid-wicket

Trent Boult [2.0-0-13-1] is back into the attack

Time-out, the second one! Finch is playing his own game and it's coming off superbly for now. He is on fire to be honest and is single-handedly powering GUJ to what can be called a respectable score. This has been such an intriguing innings so far and it won't be unfair to say that Finch is the difference between GUJ staying competitive from here, or not!

Over: 15 1 1 4 1 W 4 4 0 GUJ 109/5
Finch 35(24) Jadeja 6(5) Barinder 3-0-28-0

14.6 - Barinder to Finch, FOUR, excellent awareness from Finch! He knows that third man is up and once he is bestowed with some width, he simply opens the bat-face and splits the field despite the ball almost being in the blockhole

14.5 - Barinder to Jadeja, 1 run, pitches this one up on the stumps and is punched down to long-on

14.4 - Barinder to Finch, 1 run, slower short of length delivery, Finch rolls his wrists on the pull and keeps it in control all the way to long leg

14.3 - Barinder to Jadeja, 1 run, back of a length delivery around off, worked down to long-on

14.2 - Barinder to Finch, 1 run, spectacular from Cutting! What is this sorcery? You see such efforts so often these days but everytime you can't find words. Finch slogs a length ball towards the deep mid-wicket fence, Cutting is positioned just at the edge of the boundary. Once he realizes that the ball is going over him, he dives backwards, CATCHES THE BALahore while in the air and hurls it back in the field of play. In fact, he might have been even trying to relay the catch but the fielder converging towards him from deep backward square was too far away

14.1 - Barinder to Jadeja, 1 run, length ball which Jadeja simply pats down to long-on

Barinder Sran [2.0-0-19-0] is back into the attack

I honestly don't know what to make of Finch's knock. It's been unabashed and praiseworthy, but at the same time flirting with danger..

Over: 14 1 GUJ 100/5
Finch 29(21) Jadeja 3(2) Henriques 3-0-27-0

13.6 - Henriques to Finch, FOUR, this is such an impressive shot. He is cramped for room by a back of a length delivery which follows him down leg, but still finds enough power in those forearms to force the pull away. Splits the field perfectly in front of square

13.5 - Henriques to Finch, no run, a loud grunt after he misses out on slicing a yorker away. The line was outside off so the stumps were in no immediate danger

13.4 - Henriques to Finch, SIX, Finch has hit another home-run! And this is just as awesome as the previous one. Just kicks his front leg out of the way to a length ball and smokes it into the deep mid-wicket stands

13.3 - Henriques to Finch, FOUR, not holding back, are they? Finch is out of his crease prompting the length to be shortened. But he throws his bat and flat-bats it over extra-cover. Just over extra-cover. Long-off tries his best, running around and diving in an effort to flick it back in, but the ball keeps rolling towards the cushions

13.2 - Henriques to Jadeja, 1 run, glided with the angle down to third man

13.1 - Henriques to Jadeja, 2 runs, slanting away outside off, Jadeja cuts it behind square on the off-side and has an easy two on offer

12.6 - Ben Cutting to Finch, no run, this is puzzling to be honest, the approach. It's not there for the pull, the length is not short enough, and Finch chops it off an under-edge onto pad and is lucky that the ball dribbles away past off-stump through to the keeper

12.5 - Ben Cutting to Finch, no run, back of a length around off, Finch gets inches forward and knocks it to cover

Ravindra Jadeja, left handed bat, comes to the crease

12.4 - Ben Cutting to Dwayne Smith, out Caught by Dhawan!! GUJ are going down like a sack of potatoes. Things are falling apart pretty quickly here. Another very potent weapon is disarmed in the form of Smith. He is justified in flashing at a short and wide ball, but this is a leg-cutter which loops up off the deck. As a result, Smith is never in control of the bounce and skews it straight to deep point. Dwayne Smith c Dhawan b Ben Cutting 1(3)

Ben Cutting to Dwayne Smith, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

12.3 - Ben Cutting to Finch, 1 run, runs at the bowler and is blessed with some width which he flat-bats hard. It's straight at cover who can't hang on due to the pace on the ball and it loops up off his hands. The rebound is tidied up by mid-off

12.2 - Ben Cutting to Dwayne Smith, 1 run, punched on the up through the covers

11.6 - Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, out Caught by Bhuvneshwar!! Now a catch has been taken, and McCullum - the dangerous McCullum - is on his way back. Came down the track, couldn't quite meet the pitch, but still tries to go against the turn. Has to reach out with his hands leading the body and slices it off a thick leading edge. Bhuvi at deep cover, sporting a purple cap, gobbles it down in front of the chest. Brendon McCullum c Bhuvneshwar b Bipul Sharma 32(29) [4s-5]

Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

11.5 - Bipul Sharma to Finch, 1 run, works this one down to long-on

11.4 - Bipul Sharma to Finch, no run, Sran has dropped a clanger! It flew into the night-sky off a thick top edge after Finch's heave goes awry, Sran, at short fine leg, had plenty of time to think about it which is never good while taking a catch. He goes the Aussie way with the fingers pointing upward but can't cling on. Warner just looked away and turned his back after it went down, lest he fire a barrage of what-not

11.3 - Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, shortish, grips a little outside off, McCullum swats the pull down to long-on

11.2 - Bipul Sharma to Finch, 1 run, steps a long way down leg but is followed, drills it down to long-on

11.1 - Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, cramps McCullum for room, clipped softly beside the pitch

10.6 - Barinder to Finch, no run, Ojha's appeal keeps building gradually but no heed is paid to it. Full and slinging away outside off, Finch misses a slash. He might have smashed the bat into the ground emanating a sound which Ojha heard

10.5 - Barinder to Finch, no run, good variation. Slower bouncer which is directed wide outside off, climbs over Finch's attempt at a pull. Just looped off the deck, tennis ball-ish

10.4 - Barinder to Finch, no run, off-cutter, jagging away outside off, Finch steers it to backward point

10.3 - Barinder to Finch, no run, back of a length just outside off, punched to backward point

10.2 - Barinder to Finch, SIX, this is a 103 metre monster! It's gigantic. Oh! Fraction full and wide of off, Finch reaches across and lofts it into the long-off stands. Uff, that must have smacked the living lights out of Sran

10.1 - Barinder to Finch, FOUR, this is a lesson which should have been digested by now. Nothing length, around waist high with no pace behind the ball and Finch has hammered the pull behind square

9.5 - Henriques to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, leg-cutter on a back of a length, guided through point

9.4 - Henriques to Finch, 1 run, now he mixes it up with a short ball but Finch is ready. Swivels across and nails the pull, but straight to long leg

9.3 - Henriques to Finch, no run, Finch is invited forward by the fullish length and he knocks it softly to the right of cover. Good pressure bowling this

9.2 - Henriques to Finch, no run, back of a length, just outside off, defended to cover

9.1 - Henriques to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, back of a length delivery around off, McCullum taps it wide of cover and sluggishly moves across to the other end. Sluggishly. Is there something wrong, an injury or niggle, or something?

8.5 - Bipul Sharma to D Karthik, out D Karthik Run Out!! And Karthik gives it away almost immediately to take a bucketload of weight off Cutting's shoulders. Arm-ball which is slightly short which tempts Karthik into backing away. He late-cuts it straight to short third man, takes a few steps down the pitch before being rightly sent back by Baz. But the damage is done, he is too far out and a direct-hit catches him short despite a dive. D Karthik run out (Boult) 26(19) [4s-4 6s-1]

Bipul Sharma to D Karthik, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

8.4 - Bipul Sharma to D Karthik, SIX, flicked in the air, it's right in the direction of Cutting at deep mid-wicket. He is skirting along the ropes - around five yards inside - jumps at the right time and reaches out for the ball over his head, but it bursts through his palms and clears the ropes. Tough chance but a chance

8.3 - Bipul Sharma to D Karthik, FOUR, it's a short ball at 78ks, which is criminal. Allows Karthik lots of time to camp back and thwack the pull through mid-wicket

8.2 - Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, quicker and flatter, skidding down leg, McCullum shuffles across and clips it behind square

8.1 - Bipul Sharma to Brendon McCullum, no run, slows the pace and tosses it judiciously to extract all the turn there is, 78ks. McCullum prods forward and defends

Time-out called for! As I mentioned earlier, this partnership is absolutely key. Another wicket here and HYD can be all over them like a rash. Another interesting fact is that there's been just one over of spin so far. There's not much for the tweakers. But here comes Bipul to defy the pitch..

2.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Brendon McCullum, 2 runs, brilliant work from Shikhar Dhawan flitting across to his left from sweeper cover and diving to stop. McCullum had absolutely laced this cut shot, and it rocketed off the bat but a boundary is denied

Ojha has come up now to restrict his charges..

2.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Raina, 1 run, shorter than a half-volley but fuller than a good length, Raina works it wide of mid-on for a single

2.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Raina, no run, a half-volley with a little bit of curl back in on off, Raina flicks it to mid-wicket

2.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Raina, no run, it's Raina's first ball and he is already backing away to open up his favourite inside out hoist. But he has taken himself too far away from the line of the ball, which is already pretty close to the tramline. Can't reach out

1.6 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, no run, a solid back foot defence. An event when McCullum is batting. But early indications are that the new ball is coming on beautifully

1.5 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, a tasty little full toss on the pads and it's been devoured by McCullum who is on a sugar rush. Flicks it well in front of square and beats deep square leg

1.4 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, no run, down the track, an agricultural waft and a miss. A little bit of inswing from Boult which is enough to beat the bat

1.3 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, width outside off as Boult slants a full ball across, and McCullum might have driven it off the toe-end, you know. But the batswing is so fearsome that the ball skims away past a diving cover. There is protection in the deep too in the form of sweeper cover but he's just a spectator

1.2 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, no run, another fierce drive. This time he stood still in the crease and unleashed his hands. Straight to mid-off

1.1 - Boult to Brendon McCullum, no run, oh jeez, he's absolutely drilled that after hurling down the track and Warner at mid-off is taken aback by the sheer velocity of the drive. Does well to tumble to his right and stop it cleanly

0.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, out Caught by Boult!! Umm, so it's safe to say that the gamble didn't work. It's a short and wide ball, ED sees the width and slashes at it, only to find the ball swirling off a thick edge and down to third man. There was extra bounce which caused the shot to go awry. Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

0.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, wide, whew, so he's definitely got under Bhuvi's skin. He tries a short ball and misdirects it down leg. Way too high as well. Wided

0.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, no run, another dance down before breaking into a wild slog. This one is bowled slightly wider to take it out of reach and fizzes off the track past the edge

0.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, FOUR, strides out of the crease and has the old fashioned pinch-hitter's heave-ho, flies away off the outside edge and beats third man. Bhuvi had cleverly shortened his length but still had to see the ball race away

0.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Dwivedi, no run, another inswinger, cutting on from a back of a length on off, turned to mid-wicket

0.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, big inswing and McCullum does well to not press too far across with the front pad. Actually, he shaped to do just that, but then adjusted well and tucked it wide of mid-on

So, nearly a month and a half later, we have a 'match' - a match more potent than any dating app's swipe can promise. An astonishing contest lined up before us: Bangalore versus Hyderabad. Two teams, housed about 575 kilometers away, with different stronger suits - Bangalore blessed with the batting and Hyderabad with the bowling, albeit on the wane. But, dare I say that about HYD tonight, especially when Warner's batting shot them into that coveted finale spot. T20 League - that addictive summer fest - now caravans to Bangalore to make the hosts absolute favourites.. but, but. HYD have their own ways of mutating situations into favourable. So, have your seat belts ready, hope our umbrellas stay dry and wait on. Do join us for the all-important finale. For now, it's a good night from Pratyush Sinha on behalf of my co-commentator Sagar Chawla, and our scorer, Naga. Ta-ta!

Warner: "Pretty overwhelming. Tried to hang on, get partnerships. Knew if one of us were in, we would win on this good batting surface. Lot of credit to Bipul for playing the way he did; hit Morne out of the park in the last game. Bipul's being bowling well, got good change of pace and his work ethic is fantastic. There's only one slot for a full-time spinner and he has been churning them in the nets for us. The way he came in and did that today was fantastic. It's a team game. For me, it's about going out there and playing the way I do and hoping to have partnerships. It's all about having one batter and having a good partnership. Fortunately it was my turn to take the team home today. I am not going to take any credit, we all must come out and do the job as well as we can. There were a few emotions out there (him losing his temper in the time-out). Some silly shots and silly errors at times. If there are two batsmen at the end, it's hard to stop, especially here and at Bangalore. I thought we have to come back strong from the last time we played them (BLR). We won the toss and bowled, and they put the runs on the board. Virat Kohli, what a player. We will try to get him out but the other players bat well around him. When he fails, there's ABD. It's about executing our skills and not worrying about the players they have. It's all about having a gameplan, that is all we can do. Thanks to the crowd who have been fantastic for the whole tournament."

David Warner is the Man of the Match (Who's surprised?)

Raina: "They played very well. We did not execute the plans. Bravo, PK (Praveen) and DK (Dinesh), I thought they would deliver today. Warner batted very well. 162 was defendable. Shivil bowled well in patches, surprised them I think, but if somebody could have stepped out to give us those crucial wickets after the 17th over, it would have made a difference. New team, new venue and thanks to all the fans. Hopefully BLR vs HYD will be a good challenge in Bangalore. Hodge is a wonderful person - on and off the field - and I learnt a lot from him. He gave me a lot of freedom to express myself in batting and bowling. The dressing room was very calm, we enjoyed each other's success and it did not look like we were playing together for the first time. He did a lot of homework. Credit to all the boys."

Just like AB de Villiers got some support from Iqbal Abdulla, it was the turn of Bipul Sharma to lend support to his skipper. He released the pressure with a couple of sixes and then Warner took over. Praveen Kumar's 17th over went for 11 runs, Dhawal Kulkarni conceded 10 from the 18th and the sucker punch was the 19th over bowled by Bravo - which went for 19. There was yet another disappointment in store for Raina's troops - twice in two days, they had succumbed to pressure and let the advantage go. Hyderabad now take on the Bangalore for the title at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

Warner's unbeaten 93 condemned Gujarat to another heart-wrenching loss, dumping Raina's team out of the 2016 edition of the T20 League - in the most cruelest possible fashion. Just like on Wednesday, this was a match that they had seemingly won, half-way into Hyderabad' chase. Warner was solid at one end, but he kept losing partners at the other. Dhawan took on McCullum and came second best, Henriques, Yuvraj, Hooda and Cutting came and went, Naman Ojha promised a bit - before holing out in the deep. The match was slipping away, the pressure was building and Warner was being left to do the impossible.

It was another case of 'so near, but yet so far' for Gujarat. They had the Bangalore on the mat on Wednesday, only for AB de Villiers to play an innings of a lifetime and guide his team home. Today, they had the Hyderabad in big trouble at 84/5, the match was in their bag, or so they thought. Just as the other day, one man stood between victory and defeat, David Warner has been in sublime form all through T20 League 2016 and the Hyderabad captain stood firm- when his team needed the most.

Warner pumps his fist, roars so loud that his neck veins threatened to pop out and slashes his helmet onto his chest as he mouths out an aggressive "Come on".. at Praveen Kumar, I think. Not sure, sensationalizing things is my worst suit. Raina congratulates him too. Lots of handshakes leading to the dug out. The team sprinted out and hugged Warner. No helmet-dislodging disaster like with ABD after BLR had shot themselves into the final!

19.2 - P Kumar to Warner, 1 run, and to put it officially into a delivery description, HYD will take on BLR in the finale. A new season and a new T20 League winner beckons. Well, we knew it beforehand, no? Gets a slower ball wide of off, Warner made further room and laced the cut through point. Gujarat had been warned, now they have been Warnered

18.5 - Dwayne Bravo to Warner, 1 run, Bravo dishes out a full toss and Warner slaps it this time to deep cover for a single

18.4 - Dwayne Bravo to Warner, FOUR, a buffet of width from Bravo and Warner does not miss out this time. Backs away after a shimmy, cuts it ever so late and places it well wide of a diving deep point in place

18.3 - Dwayne Bravo to Warner, 2 runs, lovely. Uses the pace to glide it past backward point. The fielder at sweeper cover, Finch it is, times his slide after a sprint and cuts off a certain boundary. Brilliant fielding that

18.2 - Dwayne Bravo to Warner, 2 runs, good running between the wickets. Clips it as he stayed leg-side of the ball and clipped it to deep mid-wicket. A throw back at the bowler's end, not sure if Bipul was in, Bravo surely had a chance but he failed to gather the ball

In fact, when Praveen gestured to throw the ball towards him/striker's end, Warner dared him. PK didn't stop, threatened to have a shy again, but Dave Warner was up for it again. 6.6 - Shivil to Yuvraj, no run, fires this straight on the base of middle, Yuvraj is a touch unsettled as he squeezes it out back to Shivil. A lovely first over

6.5 - Shivil to Warner, 1 run, backed away but didn't have the room to flat-bat it. The ball kicked up to make things worse and Warner under-edged it near his boot. Ball rolls away fine to allow a run

6.4 - Shivil to Yuvraj, 1 run, throws his bat at the width this time and ushers it to deep backward point

6.3 - Shivil to Yuvraj, no run, this straightened off the turf, skid on and Yuvraj was late to close the bat face. Off the leading edge through the vacant slip but well cut off

6.2 - Shivil to Yuvraj, no run, the conventional Chinaman is delivered as Kaushik's back says hello to mid-wicket. That much twist. Blocked off the front foot into the off-side

6.1 - Shivil to Warner, 1 run, gets good bounce on this wrong 'un and Warner works it square of the wicket on the off-side

Shivil Kaushik, left-arm chinaman, comes into the attack

Here's Kaushik

Yuvraj 6(5) Warner 27(21) Raina 1-0-3-0

5.6 - Raina to Yuvraj, no run, fired outside off and it's been defended with an open batted push that fails to evade cover. That's the end of the powerplay.. 46/2 it reads

5.5 - Raina to Warner, 1 run, tosses it up a touch and Warner uses it for a push to cover

5.4 - Raina to Warner, no run, Raina arrests the shuffle with a straighter delivery on the stumps that's guided back

5.3 - Raina to Yuvraj, 1 run, takes this offbreak on the front foot and leans forward for a push to long-off

5.2 - Raina to Yuvraj, no run, arrows this right into the block hole and Yuvraj drills the squeeze back

5.1 - Raina to Warner, 1 run, slower delivery from round the wicket, Warner waits and taps it to long-off

Suresh Raina, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

Warner 25(18) Yuvraj 5(2) Dwayne Smith 1-0-10-1

4.6 - Dwayne Smith to Warner, 1 run, crouches as he turns around and flogs the straighter line softly to mid-wicket with a clip

4.5 - Dwayne Smith to Warner, no run, on the stumps and blocked

4.4 - Dwayne Smith to Warner, FOUR, Smith hits a length, gets the ball to bound up and Warner does not have the space to cut. Still goes for it, gets it edged off the splice but manages to guide it down to the third man fence

4.3 - Dwayne Smith to Yuvraj, 1 run, rides the bounce well with his bat tucked down while swivelling for a turndown to short fine leg

4.2 - Dwayne Smith to Yuvraj, FOUR, oh! Watch out. Short ball misdirected outside off, Yuvraj protracts his hands up and cuts it over cover. Elegant

Yuvraj Singh, left handed bat, comes to the crease

4.1 - Dwayne Smith to Henriques, out Caught by Dwivedi!! A shot tamer than Stuart's character in The Big Bang Theory. Gets a length ball outside off, slaps it on the up and drills it straight to a gleeful Dwivedi at extra cover. Et tu Henriques? Wanted to clear the fielder perhaps but the width meant that he had to go flat-batted and perished. Henriques c Dwivedi b Dwayne Smith 11(6) [4s-2]

Dwayne Smith to Henriques, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Dwayne Smith, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

Warner 20(15) Henriques 11(5) D Kulkarni 2-0-16-0

3.6 - D Kulkarni to Warner, no run, Kulkarni docks the length on this, pitches it shorter on the leg-stump to cut the length too and gets the ball to skid on. Warner is late on the tuck and is rapped high on the thigh pad. A nano-appeal that's been van Gogh'd.. ignored

3.5 - D Kulkarni to Warner, FOUR, a wait-and-hit shot. Gets a slower one pitched full, takes his front leg out and gives himself the space to lift it over mid-off. More like a flat-batted glorious biff

3.4 - D Kulkarni to Henriques, 1 run, Kulkarni goes fullish on the pads but does not have the pace to beat this soft clip through mid-wicket

3.3 - D Kulkarni to Warner, 1 run, slides deep in the crease and gets one-legged to power this tuck away to deep mid-wicket

3.2 - D Kulkarni to Henriques, 1 run, straighter line on the stumps allows a punchy tuck round the corner. Always intended for a single that

3.1 - D Kulkarni to Henriques, FOUR, that's a deriding cut shot. Short and wide. Does get the ball to do that. Opens up on the cut and barrels it through backward point

Warner 15(12) Henriques 5(2) P Kumar 2-0-16-0

2.6 - P Kumar to Warner, FOUR, two men after it and it still manages to drill its way to the fence. A flat-footed stab, just that. Didn't lean and all.. just let his bat do the talking. Extra cover dived, the ball evaded him. Finch gave the chase from mid-off, dived head-first to flick it back in but the momentum rolled the ball over. Top cricket

2.6 - P Kumar to Warner, wide, slower delivery this time, way down leg as PK's penchant for misdirection lives on

2.5 - P Kumar to Henriques, 1 run, more like an intentful block to cover-point

2.4 - P Kumar to Henriques, FOUR, Kaushik can't get there from third man. Short and wide, Henriques opts out of the cut. Instead punches it on the up, with an open bat through point, Kaushik slides but that never looked like getting stopped and PK had a grimace on his face. No words, let me tell you

2.3 - P Kumar to Warner, 1 run, thanks to short fine leg, there's some blushes saved. Half-volley down leg, Warner wound up and clipped. Failed to place it wide of the man.. 0-0 to the batsman and the bowler

2.2 - P Kumar to Warner, no run, waits on the back foot for this length delivery to lift and turns it into the leg-side defensively

2.1 - P Kumar to Warner, no run, there it is. The fuller length delivery from PK. But it's on a leg-stumpish line and is easily clipped to mid-wicket. Straight to him though

Warner 10(8) Henriques 0(0) D Kulkarni 1-0-5-0

1.6 - D Kulkarni to Warner, 1 run, almost waited a touch too late to tuck this ball on leg-stump and then has to hurry to shave it away wide of long-on. Warner wanted two but Henriques yelled out a firm NO

1.5 - D Kulkarni to Warner, no run, "wait on," says Warner. Slaps this straight to extra cover, Henriques looked uneasy for the run that made Warner say that there

1.4 - D Kulkarni to Warner, no run, jumps back to make up for the lift off the pitch and softly digs it into the pitch

1.3 - D Kulkarni to Warner, FOUR, that shot had an overdose of sucrose. Sweet timing. On a length outside off, Warner leans to digest the width and drives on the up through extra cover

1.2 - D Kulkarni to Warner, no run, short of length on the stumps, blocked to cover this time

Moises Henriques, right handed bat, comes to the crease

1.1 - D Kulkarni to Dhawan, out Dhawan Run Out!! What a poor way to depart. All that build up to his form and he fails on this day. Opened the bat on the drive, slotted the ball straight to McCullum at cover-point and ran. And erred. The throw was quick and Dhawan's attempted drivel run was cut short. The ball did ricochet off the stumps as the batsmen took another run but McCullum's throw rendered that useless. Dhawan run out (Brendon McCullum) 0(4)

D Kulkarni to Dhawan, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

Run out? Sent up. Yes. Dhawan is gone

Dhawal Kulkarni, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack

Over: 1 W 0 1L 4 HYD 6/0
Dhawan 0(3) Warner 5(3) P Kumar 1-0-5-0

0.6 - P Kumar to Dhawan, leg byes, 1 run, perhaps a deliberate line down leg on seeing the shimmy. As a result, Dhawan had to spindle around, misses and the ball takes the pad to allow a leg bye. Good over to start, can be said. Discount the first boundary.. that was too well timed to be exempted when rating a bowler

0.5 - P Kumar to Dhawan, no run, pokes his front leg out nicely to cover for this angle outside off and punches this straight to cover

Some problem as PK walks back..

0.4 - P Kumar to Dhawan, no run, pushes this slightly fuller on say middle, Dhawan arched back as he brought a straight bat down to ease the defence back down the pitch

0.3 - P Kumar to Warner, 1 run, and shortish again. Even wider outside off and Warner fetches it with a whip down to mid-on. Hopped nicely as he did that

0.2 - P Kumar to Warner, no run, stays back to make up for the shortened length outside off and stabs it with an open bat

0.1 - P Kumar to Warner, FOUR, lovely timing helped by Praveen's line. Down on the leg stump, on a length and Warner's skips out to tuck it away through square leg. Fine leg was too fine and had no chance. Sweetly-timed this to get off the mark

Warner and Dhawan are at the crease. Warner is on strike. P Kumar will open the attack
