Sean Williams looked scratchy during his brief stay at the crease and he fell after top-edging one to the keeper off Riaz. Chigumbura took a toll on Mohammad Sami as he smacked the Pakistani veteran for 22 runs in an over which included 3 sixes and a four. Chigumbura finally got out to a pacy full delivery from Wahab Riaz as he was forced to slog every ball while trying to reduce the required run rate. It was too difficult for the rest of the batsmen with the Pakistani bowlers keeping it tight towards the end. Zimbabwe had a day to forget barring the fact that they registered their highest ODI score (334/5) against a Test playing nation today.

Zimbabwe got off to a steady start as the openers played sensibly in the mandatory powerplay. Even though they lost both the openers in the space of five overs, Masakadza and skipper Chigumbura steadied the ship with a 124-run stand for the third wicket. Just when the partnership was looking dangerous, Masakadza threw his wicket away in quest of some quick runs. Chigumbura stayed on and ensured that he clobbered the freebies as he went on to register his maiden ODI ton.

It has been a happy outing for the hosts as they registered a comprehensive victory against Zimbabwe. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat on a pitch which was flat and hard.
