The exploits of Yuvraj Singh in India's 19th over of their Super 8 England clash are now well storied with Chris Broad now doomed to the knowledge that in our Youtubed global village he'll always be out there trapped in a six minute loop showing a manfully fatalistic smirk as it became obvious to him, the audience and Yuvraj that fate had tapped them all for an historic dance.

But there was more to it of course.  In one over young Mr.Singh finalised the legitimacy of this new breed of game with technically correct stroke after technically correct stroke.  As part of the increasingly giddy mass audience you felt an almost tangible realization that you could 'bat' and produce result runs in this thing after all!

That Broad bowled generally well should also be noted as this ensures that there can be little argument that this record equalization was as legitimate as the three previous bell ringers.

Also, it can currently be argued that the knock has lit a match under India bringing that 'championship season' vibe to the now inspired team.

Also, compare the sequence with Gibbs' 36 in the listless Holland game of this year's listless WC tournament and you can consider that we may have witnessed a zeitgeist sea change.

But that bit of speculation is for another day.

Congrats Yuvraj and now an encore?
