With less than two weeks to go, the Windies/ Sri Lanka ODI is not close to being sold out in Trinidad and the Trini Posse committee have taken the unprecedented move of press ads for tickets.  The Test Match? Let's just say I'll have a choice of rows to choose from.

The people are now beginning to speak with their wallets and all this against the latest news that the Lankans' warm-up match in Tobago this weekend has been cancelled due to 'conflicting flight bookings'. The feeling that it's all going tits up under the palm trees is becoming unassailable these days.

What makes me believe that there is at least one wheel left on the wagon has been the sustained quality promotional efforts of the team sponsor and the fact that last year's World Cup has left the WICB at its wealthiest position ever.

Something heroic is required.  Wins are required.  Reality tells me to have a 'rum and coke', settle back and quit dreaming.

The Windies, on a track that provided assistance to no bowler on either team, could not hack it.  They swished and swashbuckled when a straight bat was all that was required.  No one expects a return to the throne but the Windies public has only asked for dignity from these millionaires.  The divorce proceedings seem to have begun by the looks of the crowds at at the Guyanese Test and in light of what I have written above.

Maybe Jaggernauth, Trinidad's latest spin wonder, may get a chance and turn all the tables, maybe Gayle and Samuels shall 'go big'.  It's now ALL on the line and I'll be there to observe the final argument...with a camera if there's a 'kiss and makeup' and a rum and coke if it goes...badly.
